alnug
As the topic states...does changing tyres or rotating them necessity a new alignment? I have my own answers but want to hear from the experts....
Rich
I was told that it doesn't matter as I asked Tony this when I had a geo done with 15" steelies on although I knew I'd be fitting some 16" alloys a week later. The handling did change when I swapped the wheels but this was down to the tyres, got some new ones on the front which improved it alot. alnug
as I suspected mate...i guess the tyres exhibit a certain wear pattern at a certain location on the car...so this leads me onto my next question...wiser to just leave the tyres where they are and replace fronts before rears rather than rotation? Tony
Moving the tyres doesn't effect the Alignment but it does effect the handling characteristics ie over/ under-steer. Personally i'm not a lover of tyre rotation for various reasons... I simply advise the driver to learn the feel of the car again.
