Chris Murphy
Hi I had my cars alignment checked at a local garage, print out attached, I wanted a fast road set up for my mx5. Its lowered with eibach pro kit springs and 17'' wheels and the measured height is 340 mm front and 345 mm rear. The guys at the garage said the car is fine as it is, but members of the club I belong to say different and that it needs adjustment. please could you reply with the settings I need so I can go back and get them to put this right. thanks chris
Tony
They must be kidding!!!!...... Every angle is incorrect and they must have removed the front lower wishbone to get the damper out rather than undo the front upper A-arm reason i know that is the front camber and castor is wrecked. So you have ammunition the front camber should be -51' and castor +6 degrees 34'.
super josh
So they were happy to send you on your merry way with the camber showing in the red?
Chris Murphy
Yes, the thing is, they are on WIM'S list of recommended alignment centers so do they get the recommended settings from yourselves of do they use mazda's standard ones? Have a booking their tomorrow (Wednesday) Pm to see what they can do for me. Another thing I have looked at Mazdaspeed springs and they give a print out 'below' some of these settings match yours, but others do not, so what is the difference? Rich
Yes, the thing is, they are on WIM'S list of recommended alignment centers so do they get the recommended settings from yourselves of do they use mazda's standard ones? They get the settings if you buy the geometry online via WIM who also guarantee the work, although the shop isn't currently working! The problem is alot of places don't understand how to set a car up when moving away from the recommended settings and even those are only a guide. You're not that far from WIM if you live in Brentwood, maybe a trip to them to sort it out would be a better idea.
Tony
As you can see those settings are dependant on the body height.... Fixed lowering coils fall into the category i displayed. Rich is correct in what he was saying. Any purchase made through us is directly policed and only staff trained by us can calibrate the chassis. In the event the report sent to me is wrong i deal with it on the customers behalf.... 99% of the time there's no problems but whoever calibrated your car needs some real education or glasses or both?
