  1. Timpsons will clone the transponder chip in your current key, so that it will work with your car (though they couldn't do my NC2 key, saying it was too new). If you have both of the original transponder keys for your car then you can get a blank transponder key off Ebay and then code it your car yourself, then you just need to get the blank cut as normal. Could save some cash that way Josh
  2. When I had my MX5 tested last week He noticed how low it was and didn't even bother putting it on the rollers. He put it on a different brake tester whatever that was?
  3. That's interesting Tony, I thought that the PSS was supposed to wear a lot better than the likes of the Toyo Proxes/Goodyear Eagle F1 etc? You would hope so considering the price of the Michelins Josh
  4. Looks much more chilled that 'classics on the common' which is far too busy these days. Josh
  5. Thanks for the reply useful info on the practicalities of the camera I wouldn't bother with one of those strip based sensors, I've read on another forum that they are really poor and lack the sensitivity of the ultrasonic ones. Josh
  6. Wow paint looks lovely now that it's been detailed Which reverse camera did you go for? are you pleased with it? I fancy fitting one to the mx5, but not sure whether to fit just the camera or camera and parking sensors, how is it just having the camera? Josh
  7. Bloody poofs, poor spider doing no harm and then they spray it with chemicals Josh
  8. Hi Tony, I'm in the process of fitting some coilovers over the Easter break, the plan is to give the springs a couple of hundred miles to settle and then bring it in to WIM to get the geometry set up. Will I need to re-adjust the ride height after the springs have settled or is this part of the WIM service? Cheers, Josh
  9. Do you recommend uprated ones then Tony? Cheers, Josh
  10. It's called heterochromia and I have it too. Although my blue eye is on the left, brown on the right Josh
  11. That's cos you saved the link to the video part way through Try this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sm22fppGkeg Josh
  12. So they were happy to send you on your merry way with the camber showing in the red?
  13. Tony, is the general consensus that you should allow 1000 miles for new springs to settle before getting an alignment? Cheers, Josh
  14. It always amazes me how many vendors don't even tidy up there house. Why would you want it photographed with chairs strewn across the lawn and washing on the line. Don't people realise that this is the biggest investment that most people make?
  15. Thanks Tony that's reassuring. Best get them fitted then and get down to WIM for a geo. SJ
  16. Probably one for Tony. I have purchased a set of the Mazda's own blue Eibach springs for my 2011 hardtop coupe mx5 (want to keep it dealer friendly whilst it still has some warranty left). These are the 2008 onwards springs and upon looking at the TUV details for the springs it notes a free length of 295mm front and 330mm for the rears, whereas the earlier springs have a free length of 305mm front, 340mm rear. Have I bought the wrong springs for my retractable hardtop coupe? Will I end up with reverse rake because of my heavier rear-end? (no sniggering at the back). Cheers, SJ
  17. Thanks for the comments Guys Agree it's very 4x4 at the mo' and will be lowered on the official blue Mazda Eibach springs (whilst it's still has some warranty I don't want any reason for them to try and wriggle out of any claims). Then off to see Tony and the boys for a geo. Even out of the box it handles so much better than my old TT. It's so nice to be back driving a nicely balanced car that gives some feedback from the road rather than the detached feeling I used to get from the Audi. Josh
  18. Hi Joe, You don't mention how much the discount is? Cheers, Josh
  19. Well it was a lovely day on Saturday and I went to pick up my new to me Mx5 A 2011 Sport Black in Velocity Red Needs lowering and a WIM Geo. of course Cheers, Josh
