secat187
I put my mx5 in to my local Mazda dealer to have it's geometry set-up after I fitted some AGX shocks and FM springs which slightly lowered the car. After getting the car back it's pulling to the right, diving right under braking, under steering and the steering feels dead and heavier than before. In short it feels worse now than before I gave it to them. Here is the print out they gave me. Before After Front Front Left Right Left Right TOE 2.4 1.0 0.6 1.2 TOTAL TOE 3.5 1.8 CAMBER -0*18' 0*25' 0*01' 0*20' CROSS CAMBER -0*43' -0*19' Before After Rear Rear Left Right Left Right TOE 0.3 1.4 0.8 1.0 TOTAL TOE 1.7 1.8 CAMBER -1*09' -0*57' -1*20' -0*56' CROSS CAMBER -0*12' -0*24' THURST ANGLE 0*06' 0*01' OFF They had the car for a day and a half because they couldn't get it right and have noted the the near side front and rear camber are at the end of tolerances. I had the car set up fine in November last year by another garage so how could Mazda take so long and get it wrong? What should a mk1 Mx5 have it's geometry set to? Tony
That is a truly dire job! Visible faults are... 1: Front camber on the OSF is way to far positive (pushing right) 2: There is no castor positions? This means only half a Geometry was measured. 3: Rear camber NSR is to negative. 4:No Mazda has positive front camber and negative rear camber combined to the levels displayed. If you can measure the distance between the middle of the wheel arch and the middle of the wheel rim front and rear i will post the correct positions for you. juzzyp
Your settings look wild, here were my first batch of settings after Tony had a look. Take mind, mine is a MK2 MX5 and these settings have been tailored by myself and another club member. AFTER: Front (L/R) Camber: -0.29/0.30 Caster: -5.36/5.29 Toe: 0.8/0.7 Rear (L/R) Camber: -1.18/-1.20 Toe: 1.1/1.
