  1. Who's got some funny pictures for us?
  2. Perhaps the clutch fluid was betting hot? Is the car sorted for the next season or is any further development necessary? Looks like you had a good time. Great pictures
  3. The Toda flywheel is certainly worthy of your consideration. It's very strong too
  4. Certainly, a lower mass flywheel will enable the engine to respond faster to inputs. The net effect will be faster engine acceleration and deceleration. The potential downside could be an overly sensive engine that becomes more difficult to drive in traffic. Personally I would choose a well developed flywheel such as Toda Racing which works very well
  5. Wow, selling it after everything you've been through? Someone will be getting a very very nice car May I ask what you fancy getting next?
  6. That looks quite interesting. The regulations are pretty free so the potential for some serious cars to enter seems good.
  7. That's very interesting and great news. Thanks for sharing
  8. A lot people prefer studs because the torque load is shared between two sets of threads instead of one set of threads which a bolt has.
  9. Hi Bigmaz Thank you for choosing TDI to provide this service to you The team is delighted that you are pleased the results. Hope to see you again soon
  10. oh yes , its my F1 background ........................my old postcode i like to give most things a try, is it true the monster might be making an appearance ?? Not that I know of . Are you sure there are spaces left? The reason I ask is because we tuned one of contenders cars a couple of weeks ago and he said the the series was already over subscribed for 2008. closing date is 30th september i suppose its pot luck if we get a space I think priority is being given to those that competed this year. I'm not sure whether that's fair or not yet . Anyway, I hope you get in and enjoy it

  12. Fair play Bazza I think the competition is going to be very stiff next year.
  13. The wim centre will make TDi's look dirty and that's saying something That sounds like a challenge Seriously though it is veeeery difficult to keep a workshop clean and tidy. Ours has seen over 2 years of active service now but it's not too bad. I wish I had chosen a better floor covering though (even though I did research it thoroughly )
  14. There's a fairly comprehensive tyre test and review article in Evo magaine this month I almost missed it after salivating over the new Lambo Reventon, Bentley CGT Speed and Aston DBS
  15. That sounds like good progress Barrie
  16. They are very nice Jon. I would say that if Camskill have them in stock that you should snap them up becasue this range has been discontinued and there are none left at TEIN UK or TEIN Japan.
  17. Thats what I said............whats wrong with that ? Please read my previous posts for the answer, but to put it simply for you: You do not need to establish the original torque as a base line (please refer to my analogy of new carpet in a previous house). You only need to know the torque after the engine upgrade which the new clutch is expected to cope with. Perhaps that is what you should have said then because what you did actually say was factually incorrect. Another interesting statement which I'd like to question you on if I may please? Considering that it has already been established that it is the torque rather than the power that clutch handling capacities are rated at, you are now stating that the transmission will be on the edge of it's power tolerance. Please explain that in detail for me in a way that I will be easily able to understand. Thanks in advance. I meant to add torque to that statement but forgot for which I humbly apologise. I take it that Dave is not having the IS200 gearbox fitted then ? Sensible choice and one I'm sure one that a leading tuning company such as yours would have guided the customer towards. I am not sure whether Dave would like to me reveal his express perferences so please PM him if you are interested. Thank you

  19. If you mean "6MT", the answer is yes. Works starts tomorrow.
  20. That doesn't appear to be correct, unless I have misunderstood something. Please explain in detail why you think a base line torque figure is needed for the engine in it's current form. Dave has clearly asked which clutch fulfills specific requirements for his next upgrade, so your sugestion appears to have no value. Thanks in advance. If Dave can be told by TDi what torque the engine is putting out at its current level of tuning he can at least make enquiries with a base level. He can go to exedy/Helix/AN Other and say my car produces X lb foot of torque I'm looking for an extra X lb foot of torque can you assist. I have to say that I have dealing with high performance clutch manufacturers for approximately 25 years. I have never known any manufacturer to be interested in the torque of the standard engine. It would be like getting a quote for new carpets for house you don't live in anymore The only consideration is the torque of the intended application.
