  1. Blimey. My bug doesn't even have an ECU (unless you count my brain?!?). I think there are two factions on this: 1. Those who embrace the future and the level of technology it brings with it. 2. Those who appreciate the past and value the fact they we are driving the car, not Big Brother!
  2. I had this same problem with the 'Passat of Doom' last year. (you remember that Tony?!?) Both drop links were totally screwed. Replacements could not be found any where so i simply..... .... removed the front anti-roll bar! Muchos drifting Fun! Irresponsible i know, but hilarious none the less

  4. Has anyone seen these pictures of BMW's new V8 twin turbo set-up? Interesting design with regards to turbo location and intake/exhaust layout.... Discuss

Thought so And how exactly did you deduce that Mr Holmes? there's no deer stalker smilie Well we have a minimal camber on the rear.... The track is clockwise and the lateral forces on the OSR corner out would amplify traction to the inner area of the tyre....Remember the pneumatic slip topic here in wim. Simple deduction my good fellow Aha! Were you aware that the track wasn't always clockwise? Infact, most of Sunday was spend going pretty much any direction you fancied... Either way, it's all elementry my good man! If you eliminate the impossible, whatever is left, however improbable can only be the truth.

Whilst you're both right - she'll handle like a greasy ferret wearing vaseline covered lycra, but even a bad DI can be 'engineered' out. Turn the gearbox around and mount the engine in the middle of the car.... seen it done with interesting results on dune buggies.

On her bug maybe - not mine. Mine's designed for straight line speed... She's definately thinking of doing something like this with her bug. In a few months time we'll be junking the Air Cooled engine i built for her and transplanting a Subaru engine in. This will present an ideal oportunity i think... characteristically, this will make the car extremely lively at the rear so it should be quite happy with going sideways. My only reservation about the whole thing is her 'on / off' attitude towards the throttle....

OK - Photobucket has finally let me in. First up, Some videos. Please allow them a moment or two to load. This particular run is with my girlfriend, Danielle sat in the passenger seat. Needless to say, she's bloody hooked now... All of the pictures, including the other drift cars can be seen as soon as i've reduced the size and filtered out all the crap ones
