  1. Yeah, the paint has been scraped off in places, right through the plastic of the bumper itself, and there are a number of scrapes. There's also damage (possibly cracking - I've not had a proper look underneath yet) to the underside of the bumper where his wheel got jammed.
  2. I've dealt with our "local" chipsaway guy - was not impressed. Turned up during the hour I said "Don't come between X and Y as I'll be in a meeting" - and then, even though he was advertised as doing paintless dent removal ... said "oh, we don't do dent removal, we'd fill and paint that"
  3. Hopefully these links work for the pics ... https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/iYOd0yDDGIpdJN5yqr5_jd4Qj7dE20kXmwK7F9XBmDA=w958-h719-no https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/zmI74VnT5rCUWYzmpbfLajiQnttz9rLM0EpgXngNhBk=w958-h719-no Its only cosmetic and to the plastics of the rear bumper, but it was SO close to damaging the paintwork on the boot itself. All of 1mm ... ! I've had a chat with Lemass before, and had a look at some of his past work, and its seriously impressive - but, as you say, very very expensive.
  4. Evening all. My back bumper was given a good "seeing to" by a 50cc scooter on my way home from work today - Can anyone recomend a good bodyshop in/around Watford/Ricky? I'll be visiting PaintWorX up by the Croxley business park tomorrow at lunch, they've done good work for me before, but I'd like to get a 2nd quote as well. Its not massive damage - some scrapes/gouges mostly - but with the Enfield Pageant this weekend .. its annoying. James
  5. It also looks extremely bulky, and hard to carry. Having to take the wheels off just adds further complications!
  6. Congrats!! I'm not out of work until 5 ... but might pop along for a looksee ... What time is it going to run on until?
  7. LPG tank failure from what I've heard. Gonna have made a hell of a bang!
  8. The fronts are set to the same approximate stiffness as the stock stuff was ... I could see it maybe causing problems if I was throwing it around or had the fronts stiffened up?
  9. Still only the fronts - I really need to pull my finger out and get the rears done. I've only just had the geo done 2 months ago though - same time I had the subframe bush inserts fitted. Really does make a difference!! Pulls a little more on uneven surfaces, and on strangely cambered roads, but turns in beautifully
  10. An update for updates sake.
  11. I can see the landing loads being a big factor with aircraft tyres using it - sudden acceleration, combined with masses of heat from the brakes, and the danger of having a tyre explode from overpressure. If the nitrogen is more stable across a wider range of temperatures, its going to be safer at altitude too, surely, where temperatures drop very low? Moisture from "normal" air could turn to ice at altitude, and unbalance the wheel on landing? Also, being inert, it won't have such an effect on wheels on a normal car?
  12. Should be checked hot, with the engine idling, after pausing in "R" / "N" / "D" for 20 or 30 seconds each, 20 minute drive minimum to make sure its hot too. It could just be there was a small amount of air in there when you last checked, at the very top of the gearbox, and that's now gone. Back to the max and check daily for a few days will let you know if its leaking.
  13. You can see at ~6-7 seconds through the video, the car that is pulling out of the side road is wheelspinning - maybe they misjudged the gap or realized at the last second and panicked, hitting the accelerator? Doesn't look like it was *much* over the limit, but if the car pulling out had looked ... !
  14. As much as I liked them too, they had terrible full beam, and even with the projectors and HID's they weren't amazing. Where there was light they were good though. I need to have the rear coilovers fitted, something I've not had the cash to do since moving.
  15. Wash day! My local Owners Club section are moving their monthly meet from South Mimms services to the Bushey Met Club, so she has to be clean for that .... I've removed and sold the black projector headlights - as much as I love them! Money to be reinvested in the car soon ... maybe involving a trip to WIM, a ramp, and rear suspension! (I'll be ringing next week to try and get a rough cost if thats ok?) Over the bank holiday weekend I'll be stripping off the remaining sealant, possibly claying, and getting some good polish and wax on there, ready for the first show in May/June time. The sealant is definitely loosing it effectivness, as even when clean its only making big uneven beads, and it doesn't run off easily at speed now. Fortunately where I park at the flat is in the shade, so I can wash/clay/wash at the parents, then drive down here to polish and wax out of the sun - no issues with panels being too hot now! Might get some weird looks though, but I'll cope lol!! Latest pic of the front end ...
  16. Looks good! How do you find the FK1000p? I'm just about to "stock up" for a detail at the end of April, and am thinking of a change - I used Poorboys Natty Blue last year which I liked, but keep hearing good things about 1000p ... !
  17. Could you not fit the new system and "cap" the exhaust where the new backbox would attach? Part 33 on the diagram looks like it might be a cap that fits if the 2nd backbox isn't required?
  18. Aye, some very skilled flying there with some very expensive models!!
  19. Remote control! Some of those maneuvers are physically impossible ... and 1:29 you can see the landing gear on the plane just before it cuts away ... they're like sticks. A lot of 2-minute onwards seems real though.
  20. Might have to make the trip down to this! There's always some special cars in the carpark at events like this too!
  21. You can change it, and people do, but its not down in the schedule anywhere that it should ever be touched, so in their eyes its sealed for life.
  22. Manuals are usually solid! Occasional top-up and that's all most people will ever need. My box in the R AWD doesn't have a service schedule, its a "sealed for life" style box ... just a shame that the life is shortened by not changing the fluid!!
  23. Did you just drain what was in the pan in the autobox? Might be worth, in a few weeks, doing another "drop and fill" to replace some more, as you'll have had a lot of oil in the torque converter that won't have been changed. Do you have a gearbox oil cooler?
