  1. i can talk about the MR layout and the FF layout but havent experienced FR in the snow. my old FF was fine in the snow at a modest pace. tyre pressure was dropped about 3 psi only, but it had a big tyre wall. the issue i found was with hills it didnt like dragging the rest of the car behind the front wheels. This is something that i was suprised at with the MR2, it is a very capable snow car, driven correctly. I drove all last christmas in varying levels of snow and ice, which stopped my previous FF pugeot. Corners have to be taken just a carefuly in both, although the mr2 doesnt have the engine on the front wheels you might be fooling yourself thinking its therefor light, it isnt really as the car has about a 44/56 weight balence favoring the rear it still has enought weight to grip the corners providing you arnt driving simply too fast. Hills ive found are much easier, possibly because its a pushing action rather than a dragging action? im not too sure but i was able to pass a reletively new bmw then later in the same week and 10 year old merc who were struggling going up a local hill. suffice to say FF and MR seem to be far superior to FR layouts in terms of capability
  2. holy cow! dude in the green shirt.......LOOK LEFT!
  3. or more importantly BMW choosing to use run flats should have made considerations in the geometry
  4. a clever use of overlaying photos. would be more impressed if they could do that in a single photo shot!
  5. or suggestes that his collegue agrees with us in that it was highly inapropriate incident. It is possible that it was a one off, just gone too far, but you pay the price for mistakes.
  6. that happened quite some time ago buti cant remember if it was posted here. The police officer was in the wrong. There should have been intervention from the other officers, if nothing more to assist in the safe detention of the lady. There wasnt, he was fed up and dealt with her too forcefuly. Im torn as to what i want from a police force, a force that takes no s**t and deals with issues short and sharp, or a force that is considerate to all, careful and caring. Its not easy to combine the two effectively all the time and when things go wrong people might get a bloody nose. apparently she made a full physical recovery but not so full emotional state.
  7. wooooohw, slow down guys. it looks as though this equipment is simply a straight replacement for the equipment you currently use, the only difference is that you dont need to attach anything to the wheels to assess the alignment, hence the "touchless" part of the title. you will still need to get under the car and make adjustments to calibrate the chassis and all the other godly wizardry you guys perform, but this tecnology simple removes the need to attach anything to the cars wheels for getting a reading. it looks to simply 3d scan the area of the wheel, thats what the lights are, when its done that it does all the normal things any kit will do, minus the possability of fitting the units to the wheels incorrectly. I know wim wouldnt do that but other facilities im sure might!!!
  8. its your car and can do what you want with it......but agreed, it wouldnt be a great idea driving like that. depending on a mountain of variables the two that come to mind are, overtightening (i dont know the bearing details so this may not be possible) or inferior manufacturing
  9. hang on a sec guys..........i took my test only a few years ago and that is not what was suggested to help avoid blind spots. looking over your shoulder is the "correct" method taught to learners now. in my mr2, with my seating possition, i have the rear view obviously aligned so i can see straight out the rear, then the driver side mirror meets the point where the rear view stops, then with a slight turn of my head i can see anything that is beside and slightly back in the right lane (motorway for instance) the left is simular, what i can see in the rear view just meets where the side mirror starts then the visability sweeps round to where the side mirror stops and a simple turn of my head i can see any cars. doing what is suggested in that video will create mid rear blind spots. admitidy those mirrors were far too "turned in" theres no need to see the side of your car like that! but im not convinced its the best for the uk.......but informative for somone who never thought to touch the mirrors!

  18. a few years ago while looking at parkour and freerunning i came across a thing called "multi level moves" which still stuns me now, its a mix of capoera, gymnastics, matial arts and breakdancing. people really are awsome! Please wait a few moments for Video to Load!
  19. i feel we differ greatly in how we view conflict. It makes the world a far more interesting place
  20. im now at work on my drone pc and the images look shocking......but thats because im using a cheap uncalibrated lcd with poor contrast i can see the inner arch on all the pictures and all the tyres look grey the profiles may provide you with some level of continuity through all stages of the photo-edit-print process so its definatly worth experimenting with. Thats what we have to do at the college when installing new scanners or printers, else we find the difference between on screen and on paper output barely resembles what the user believed they had captured!
  21. haha, i always do this, i asked some questions in your other thread that may or may not get answered in the next few comments you make here :-)
