  1. Tony. It is fortunate that your lot and you can think outside the 'box' so to say. When the car was taken to the dealership with the customer stating the rear tyres where wearing badly. they would just look at the rear cal of the car. Its hard to say but unless you have a trained professional who has a passion about their job would they have thought about the air suspension. the usual tyre monkey (quick thick) etc would never look to see if the auto suspension was working correctly. I really hope, armed with this info, the customer will return to the main dealer and kick up a fuss.
  2. i would rock that volvo if i could get in it.. dont know why but i really like it
  3. Steelies are 'in' at the moment! get some 15"s as they are UBER cheap compared to the 16"+ unfortunately i cant go smaller than 16" as the wheels wont clear my calipers.
  4. I have been following this thread closely to see what people say about winter tyres. My missus is expecting our first child on the 8th january... and i for one dont want to be stuck at home if the roads are crap (like last year). I have a set of 16's that i really dont care about and will be usign these as winter wheels. I guess my main niggle in my head is.. the cost! the vred / conti's are quite expensive when im trying to look after the pennies at the moment (about to buy a house too!). are there any tyres you could reccomend that will be 'cheap' ish on 205 /xx/ 16's ? Im trying to keep the cost under £250 though, which does rule out a lot of the 'better' witer tyres.
  5. i can vouch for the sessantas. AMAZING tyre in wet and dry, probably the best i have owned as todate. as tony said though.. they are a little short on life... i got 15k- 20k out of my fronts, but I do drive quite hard and do make use of their grip around corners I will be putting another 2 on very shortly (fronts only) as they need replacing and the fact i have a little one on the way so want some decent rubber on the road. It also means i will be driving more sedately, so will be interesting to see what type of milage i get out of these.
  6. No worries i'll get some prices tomorrow...... cheers Tony Camskill came back to me and said they could not beat the £89 per tyre that tyremen are selling them for
  7. a while ago i did spot some R888's for the GTR onb ebay for £1100. thought that was a steal IMHO
  8. the vred's in my size arnt listed on your web/BB site.
  9. Im looking at Vredestien Ultrac Sessanta's again at the size of 225 / 45 / R17 XL Cheapest place i have been able to find them is at Tyremen at the price of £89 each then £9 for both tyres comming to £187. Camskill, (my first point of call) was asking £103 each + postage.. bit pricey IMHO I remebered WIM now supply vred tyres ? Im planning on going through one of the WIM 'trained garages' down here in the south as I want my car with a proper GEO after i had it done twice last time and it still feels rubbish How much an you supply 2 tyres for ?, also... im looking at winter tyres as me and the girly are expecting our first child on the 8th jan, and the last thing I need is to not have decent tyres on! so im after some 195/55/16 (ish) tyres x4. can you point me in a good direction ? Obviously i can spend £100's per corner but would like to keep it below the £300 if possible Hope you can help Adam
  10. I knew that assumption would be made! Actually I wasn't going fast, I was doing no more than 15-20mph as I had just come off the roundabout. The road bends round straight after you join it I just wasn't expecting the build up of traffic. I slammed the brakes on and the car started to skid but the ABS stopped it. Been along time since something like that happened and I didn't have ABS then, that was a brown trouser moment!! I too would say you where still a little fast for the conditions, and if the bend was that tight, you should leave yourself comfortable breaking disctance... saying that, i was doing about 20 mph around a roundabout yesterday and hit a massive patch of oil / diesel. fortunately no cars where about but if there was i would have gone right in to the side of them
  11. he was rocking with the VW's ... the stretched tyre look Ill get my coat!
  12. such a waste of a very good engine... the 2.0 turbo from rover had forged internals....
  13. what he said^^^^ that GTR made me sex wee in my pants! ... i even had to re-wind on the 2nd race as initially i could not figure how the gtr just jumped so far ahead when a few seconds before they where level
  14. very lucky man as if those trains where at a slightly different timing he would have jumped away from one and been hit by the other!
  15. fair enough . as a guestimate.. how much should a full Geo be ? or will it tell me that on the BB site ?
  16. yup , even though i may be sourcing the tyres else where as im thinking about winter tyres this year after the amount of snow we had.... but i am in need of 2 vredestein sessantas as well for the front 2 tyres
  17. oh my oh my oh my I just sex weed in my pants
  18. is there anywhere else around the south area that you have trained ? I would love to drive up to WIM to meet the guys and get my car done properly but its a fair drive for me
  19. Tony. Been looking at the blackboots site and it says you have a 'fitting' centre in waterlooville (Collison Motoring Service Ltd) Have they been to the course and are now 'approved' by you ? Reason being is that im needing some new tyres soon and im wanting to take it to a place i can trust... my last 'trusted' garage damaged my alloy powder coating, admitting they had done it but would not give me discount / or money to get it fixed . Im wanting to make sure the next place i go to will do a proper job of fitting the tyres AND a professional service for doing the geo. Cheers
  20. guys... if you read the quote above.. luke did manage to get the owner to change the wheel
  21. Tony, you need to hook up with some owners and do an 'alignment' meet. basicly it teaches you how, when and how much power you can put down through a corner. will make you a safer driver
  22. Am i disturbed if i where to say i was expecting a crash of some sort ?
  23. i like how the car lifts up off the dyno on full boost.. i wonder what psi that monster is kicking out ?
