    CIH's S12 Silvia

Gp 16 but on a classic policy it cost about £300. That's a 27yr old male, 3points, Manchester but garaged, 4500 miles per annum. Forgot to mention the 200SX Owners Club/S12OC/ZXOCs so I may get another £20 or so back. Incidentally, an import MX5 couldn't go on a classic policy and would cost £700 minimum.

how can SR be static if it shifts across the tyre contact patch ? Bar Graphs. Last time I adjusted Toe but only to within tolerance, not spot-on. Perhaps I should check Steer Ahead (not displayed by default) before lifting ? Do you ever use lift axle on the rear btw ? Yes, he showed me how to use it first time round. They all think of it like a tracking ie; a quick 15 minute job. Infact KF shows it as a "super track" on the till. If I gave him a completed Summary he wouldn't know any of it beyond the basic camber/castor/toe angles.

    CIH's S12 Silvia

That's 1989 Nissan S12 Silvia 1.8 ZX Turbo to be exact. ebay pics will have to do for now
  4. oh, this reminds me! I should get some WIM stickers for the silvia! Do you do window stickers ? I think WIM blue looks too close to 80s Nissan Metallic blue for one to go on the outside.

but would the SR not move because of the camber changes on turn ? Incidentally, it seems my lifting procedure woes stem from the rig prompting me to straighten the road wheels before and after lifting. Doesn't always do it. Any ideas what prompts the rig to do so ? Those idiots at work accused me today of shirking the tyre bay work because my geo sessions are taking longer. "Just track it up" they said, like it's a 20min job. From guys who dissapear every 10mins to have a cig
  6. Mileage doesn't warrant it but it was last changed back in '98. The car was put back on the road 2 years ago after a 10 year lay-up. It's not been negleted but I can't believe neither of the previous owners hasn't picked up on this already. Once that's done it'll get laid up for the winter and for my finances to recover after a battering.
  7. Not an MX5. Alright then I paid £1k and got that Silvia.
  8. A stereo has noplace in a car like that (IMO obv.) My we are thinking alike  In truth it would be good for you to start a blog or gallery of the cars you calibrate, if only to show how diverse you are and the level of trust owners have for your services. I've got the odd Summary Report but I rarely get to speak to Geo customers.
  9. Don't you just hate it when people ask for advice then do what they were going to do anyway ?

    Still no joy...

Probably a bit tricky as IIRC it's ride-height specific.
  11. I just recall reading it somehwere ?
  12. When you say brake judder, you mean a vibration through the pedal under braking ? A sticking caliper could cause a pull but should have been picked up on when the pads 'n' discs were fitted. I'm thinking an ABS fault ?
  13. It's people not taking the time to look at their tyres, nevermind pressure checks etc. N-one forced BMW to make them standard across the range. Just an excuse not to provide a spare IMHO. The amount of cars that come in on the back of a truck simply because there was no spare is absurd.
  14. IIRC 4wd generally suffers from poor turn-in ?

how does that cause tyre wear ? I can imagine lateral poitioning causing problems but hadn't thought about the vertical plane.
  16. Or it's usually the wife's car and they've just borrowed it lolz
  17. could they have rotated and loaded-up, NC style ?
  18. I've seen this with a few runflats. "Run on Flat", so people do..... Didn't know they used kevlar. No wonder they're so expensive. Or is that just FF ? >.>

So is there a way to use the Geo readings to determine if SR is correctly positoned ?
  20. how are you seeing outside ?? perhaps i need glasses, but all i can see the inside of WIM headquarters DB9 on the Geo...... that's nearly outside.
  21. You'll have to change your sig Bazza changes my green bits to red
