  1. indeed...mark has been great with the latest issue(parts to be modified) ive needed sorting with the car. hence why id rather ship the car across the country to get it done, and also as Mark has always supported me with the car, and why i support TDI and promote them with the car
  2. No intention to race the car. Just local high street use, shopping etc if the hubcentric spacers (aluminium and TUV approved) are going to cause safety issues I'd rather do without them. Would the safety risk issues increase with the spacer width... eg 15mm vs 25 mm? hubcentric / bolt on spacers are the best to use as this reduces the strain on the factor wheel studs to reduce the effect on the bearings, and the usual need to fit spacers is the use of a wider wheel, by using the spacer you can increase clearence in the wheel well to add spacers just for stability while shopping.............is there a need
  3. but do you get full cups...........that the indicator
  4. putting spacers on, (can), accelerate wheel bearing failiure
  5. not taking anything away from Tony, but it is possible that the engineers at Lexus, or Toyota may have eventually solved the issue as well................. I've always believed the issue was caused because of the engine, and that they were still using the original geometry settings from the Altezza, and it wasn't until the heavier 6 cylinder cars were used for high mileage runs in Europe that the issue came to the fore, remember in Japan most cars only cover small distances. this is not just an IS200 issue, in the US they was having the same issues with the 300............
  6. i have a splitter that wont damage the rubber, if you want to borrow it
  7. i have to relog in every time aswell Ahmet
  8. but if a Nyloc nut is used it should never come loose
  9. erm, nope, theres alot that needs doing, like all the electronics, and re-instaling all of the dash
  10. thanks no ---no, was just removed for the cage, the drivers seat had to stay in to guage rollcage distance.....
  11. Frame Rigidity..... are there any updates on when WIM will be in operation....(pm me if needed)
  12. is200/altezza Tony......your doing it remember there will be no secrets.... mine will be the only Lexus competeing, so my settings wont benifit anyone else
  13. i await the "new" feel of the monster when its BTCC welded in roll cage comes back from cambridge, coupled with the chassis ladder brace, front and rear turret braces, uprated roll bars and Coilovers, it should be very bloody stiff, couple that with the uprated bushes, i do belive the feel will be somewhat spot on, infact much better than the blue drift car ever had, as the cage in the blue carw as a 6 point bolt in, the new cage is a 18 point weld in add to this also that the Monster will have shed another 70 kilo of weight.........at least by loosing the fuel tank, crazy front bumper, most of the wire loom, all the interior trim, a considerable part of the dash structure, and instruments, and anything from the heater/aircon system thats not used, will also be dropping one of the rear exhaust boxes........ so, a much lighter shell, with much less complience...should make the car far more interesting.......

    Corner weighting

Now that I can kinda understand, but I guess those iron blocks had a more meaningful mass something like 20-30kg. nope 2.5 kilo each there were 3 in 1 side and a 1 kilo block in the other sill

    Corner weighting

ive seen this effect a few times on different cars. a few years ago when i had my workshop in germany, i was doing some insurance work on an Audi s6, in the rear of the cars sills were iron blocks!! apparently there added to neutralise the weight distribution on the car, for lhd/rhd and trim levels the intresting thing came though when trying to order a replacement from Audi/vw... "What block........ ...?" was the response i got (albeit in German ) it was only when i spoke to Wolfsburg technical about them that the whole purpose came to light

    Remoulds

wouldnt know about aircraft Tony, i was refering to the Trucks, and Plant
  17. Mat

    Remoulds

yep, was aware... most Military truck tyres are all remoulds aswell, unless there is any damage within 4" of the sidewall can i ask what vehicle this tyre is fitted on...... looking at the tyre, it looks to be even at the very low end of remoulds!!, almost looks like the old crossply tyres, and looks a very hard compound
  18. Mat

    Remoulds

but surely the origin of the remould has a part to play in this, also...and we always blame the tyre first, when actually as you will even know...... most people dont even inspect there tyres, some are run on low pressure, are run up and down kurbs, over inflated., just generally abused, its only when incidents like the one above happens do people thewn look at the tyre.......and blame it!
  19. need to find out the full usage requirements of the car really, before i can make comment ......i hope he was gentle did you like the sea cadets, was it all the seamen, or the big guns that attracted you
  20. intrestingly, TRD filters........are just the normal High quality Toyota ones...painted red and did you know, that all Toyota OEM filters have a magnet within to catch metalic particles
  21. i have the taps, and the zeus engineering tables book......if you need them
  22. technically they are a good idea....as we all know turbos like no back pressure, however......all the reports ive read on exhaust "cut out valves" indicate that there actually crap, because the flaps jam, and the exhaust leaks
  23. harness is ok aslong as it is approved, i.e kite mark. or approved sanctioning body i.e FIA i asked this on at my MOT station, actually i asked the regs on race cars, and we went through the list.....harness's being one of them
