Thanks Joe, I've read nothing but bad reviews on RFT's and handling and coming from my old car, they are very skittish, give a hard ride and tramline all over the road so happy to get rid depending on price. Can you PM me a couple of prices please and availability for a GEO as well as the fitting? Tyres are 205/45/17 84v I believe. There's a BMW approved non RFT on a Conti Sport Contact 3 as above and could i have a price for another option such as the Falken FK452 and Toyo T1R. Also a price for a replacement Dunlop RFT. Got a bloomin nail straight through the middle of the front left tyre on the MINI. Tyre is as flat as a dodo 0psi. If i pump it up it goes down straight away. Can these be repaired as its a run flat? Or do I need to replace? Will WIM fit non-run flats onto my tyres if I decide to have a complete change? Looking at either replacing all with Toyo T1R's or Conti Sport Contact 3's. Cheers Iain

Its not too bad, 0.3/0.5 out roughly. Can check by filling up and then running the numbers through an online MPG calculator. Have you thought about running it on a higher octane fuel for a few tanks? My old car would run much better and produce better figures compared to 95RON. What does the inside of the cap say?

Well I get to use WOT up the hill for 2 gears then its gridlock Keep it below 6000rpm's for a bit and see how you get on! (hard I bet)! I just asked the other half what mileage she is getting out of her Civic which is normally 35mpg and since its gotten really cold its gone down to 31 so just over 300 to a tank which isn't great so I bet its the weather.

I would have thought it would do low 30's too?? My old EP3 Type R would regularly do 31mpg on the way to work and back. 36 on a run. The S2000 would do 28 on average too. Both high rev'ers. Would the winter tyres really affect the mpg that much?

Since picking up the Cooper S (R56 turbo variant) its has a tendency to torque steer a lot. It has caught me out a couple of times pulling off in either direction when accelerating out of a junction or accelerating hard to overtake. Can this be dialled out? I will be booking the car to come up anyway as with any new car I get, I make sure it gets a once over from Pete or Tony. I have a feeling this car has never had any Geo done so probably due (07) plate. Just curious if its a geo thing or if its a LSD issue? Getting the power down is a mare at the moment in first and second. I am sure the run flats are not helping matters! (next change will be to normal tyres and a can of foam in the boot with an AA membership!) Cheers Iain

Well first part done today. Wheels fitted, new rubber and a Geo. Car looks a lot fresher with the wheels on. :tongue2: After the wedding in May it will be suspension work next. Pete said only one bolt gave him grief which is brilliant for an 8 year old car. When the Geo gets done again in autum I'll get them all greased and replaced if needs be. One advisory on the track rod ends but the car came into the tolerances we wanted. Again will replace at the next visit. bit. Bit more camber now on the rear to make use of the extra width on the tyres. Car was very planted on the way home even with unscrubbed tyres. A good visit all in all.

Myself and best man car. The wheels should look good and lowering it a little will just fill the arches without compromise on handling. Car will be in the photos so want it looking it's best!

In preperation for summer coming and using the car for our wedding I have decided to get the following done: 1. New wheels (already purchased and will require tyres + fitting) - These are Honda 17" OEM from a 04+ that have been refurbed. 2. Suspension - springs required for the car. I dont need coilovers as the original springs only have 38k on them and the car is mainly used for commuting. Suggestions on makes to pair with the current MY02 suspension? 3. Geo - This needs doing as the car has developed a pull to the left over the Winter no doubt due to the pot holes. Also once the new wheels and tyres are on. So Suggestions on springs? Eibach's come immediately to mind from when I had them fitted on my old MX5 Geo? The car will be running 245 rears instead of 225 as per Honda 17" tyre recomendation. Ideally I would like a fast road set up, what settings would need configuring and the intended finished settings be? I am hoping the extra grip at the rear will get rid of some of the twitchyness pulling out of junctions. Last time I was in - Pete advised the bolts were starting to get stiff but all were adjustable. I am planning on keeping the car so it is well worth me getting the bolts re-greased prior to the geo? I have heard these are a PITA if they seize and rather expensive to sort. Is this a lenghty job? Cheers

Since the cold snap (and it happened last year too) the rear brakes on the missus Astra H (2005) have a right old tendency to bind. Scenario.. Leaves for work in the morning parked on a slight slope, starts car and releases hand brake. Car doesn't move, attempt to pull off and the car drags its backside along until the rears unbind with a clunk. Problem is, it's the equivalent of pulling a permanent handbrake turn until it unbinds, not cool for the first few icy bends! I've read up on cables being frozen and split cable connectors. Anything else? Can you guys take this in to look at? Something WIM would work on?

I agree with HMS...Think yourself lucky with some kind of weight over the rear wheels. Mine has nowt and in the winter is scary as hell. How about a WIM airfield day!? I could organize it. Done 6 in the past with www.carlimits.com Andy is a very knowledgeable chap. Get 15-20 cars and it will work out to approx £50 a car? Worth investigating?

If you are able to send me a price with a bottom, mid and high range tyre that would be awesome (PM is fine) Tyres I have heard good reviews on are: Bridgestone Blizzack Uniroyal Rainsports and the Vreds Not sure where they fit in the low to mid range though.

So... last couple of years have been completely pony with regards to weather and after last year of driving the missus car with 230IlB torque and summer tyres (Diesel Tunes 1.7CDTi Astra H), I am gonna make sure we are covered. (my car was abandoned at home... rear wheel drive and on a slight incline, it didn't move and only p**sed the neighbors off with me wheel spinning) Soooo.... winter tyres. Not the full blown studded chain ones, but ones that good for wet weather, work below 5 degrees and work in snow. Suggestions? p.s... Thinking about it, its never never been Geo'd so we'll sort that at the same time
