New Camero crashes at the Nurburgring in testing.....
parthiban replied to Tony's topic in Car Related Photos/Videos
Ouch! Is the description of how the car behaves after an ABS failure accurate? I would expect an ABS failure to action a default into a normal state, say the sort of bias that would have been expected in a car with no ABS or EBD. -
That's an awful pic if they were pros! But yes the spacers look great, rear wheels are nicely filling those arches.

Battery or charger

If it helps I also have a charger like this for times when you need a quick charge (it's not this exact one but something similar) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/321863810666?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=122&chn=ps&googleloc=9041114&poi=&campaignid=207297426&device=c&adgroupid=13585920426&rlsatarget=pla-131843260386&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0-L&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=122 -
Battery or charger
parthiban replied to Rich's topic in General Problems / Discussion (NOT Geometry Related)
Sorry if that sounded confusing, yes it will of course charge a battery but it takes ages as it's primary function is the health of the battery. It'll be fine for what you need it for though. Yes you can charge it on the car or off, my Lexus battery is currently sitting in the garage on the tender out of the car. -
Battery or charger

I've left it plugged in to the Lexus battery for the last week to see if it can revive it but not holding out too much hope. But the CTEK is permanently plugged in to the Ferrari to make sure the battery is always good. Worth noting that it isn't a battery charger, it's a tender, it's job is to keep a battery in its optimum condition and good health rather than charge one up. Either or, the crocodile clips or the eyelets are both fine. -

It's not on the Lexus, that's why it keeps going flat (the solar thing seems to have stopped working I think). I have the Ferrari permanently plugged in on the CTEK as I use that quite infrequently so it means the battery is always kept perfectly charged. -
Amazon Prime Clarkson Hammond May Show....
parthiban replied to Tony's topic in Car Related Photos/Videos
Not the best name, unless the show will purely just be tours around the world now? I really liked House of Cars that was thrown about earlier. Either way looking forward to the show! -

Haha, I'm trying to breathe some life back into it but I think I'm going to need to replace it again! My CTEK is still going strong, no issues whatsoever. -
Not sure about the MX5 but I had a Bosch S5 in my 360 when I got it and I replaced it with an S6 which is the dry type.

The government have already said there will be no changes off the back of the scandal so there's nothing to worry about.
-
Very nice! Yes that is pretty serious arch clearance, not many 4x4s have that much clearance any more!
-
Ahh, that makes more sense! Couldn't for the life of me work out what that was supposed to say
-
Wow that's a lot more than I was expecting, I should get out on the road with my cam running more often!
-
Seems an odd decision - even if they did write it off he could still buy it back, and given the footage so freely available now that car with CAT D status would make absolutely no difference. If it's with a specialist insurer they may not even write that off - not completely clear from the vid but the post to the side of the car isn't great, did it look like major chassis damage?
-
Not covered by insurance?
-
Seriously?
-
Only just seen this as couldn't see the vid at work - wow those roads didn't look like the sort you'd want to be planting it on! (particularly as I'm assuming the Supra doesn't have TC?) Glad no one was hurt, with the lamppost impact that could have been worse. Btw your car sounds great!!

Would you use part worn or second-hand tyres?...
parthiban replied to Tony's topic in Tyres / Wheels
An advisory for 3mm is a bit ridiculous, at that level they should just be telling you verbally that you may need to change your tyres in the year. Should only be getting an advisory at 2mm imho - if that's too low then the legal limit needs to be raised. -

3mm isn't in urgent need of a change! If you're selling just leave them as is - do they even give out advisories for 3mm? -

How near the limit is "near the limit"? -

Personally no. That small cost difference just isn't worth it to me. My 360 has proper OEM tyres on it and I still want to change them as I hate the Bridgestones! -
But of course, I think in reality you'd struggle to do 250mph for more than 36 miles!
-
Depends on which perspective you're looking at that from
