wim no longer a GAZ agent

Half a result then....... I'm positive the front noise is the polly's, lube to prove or deny my theory.

Damm and blast looks like the half a result has turned into no result. :)

Yup the creak is back, as I mentioned it hadn’t fully gone and has been getting worse as the week went on so yesterday I removed the old poly bushes (which were only about 12 months old anyway )on the rear anti roll bar and replaced with new ones and made sure we had plenty of lube on them before tightening down, and guess what ............ it hasn’t made any difference at all, it still sounds like a rusty old bed spring.

So the only thing that I can think of is to swap both rears over and hope that the creak changes sides but to be honest that seems like allot of effort for an unknown outcome at this end any way.

I have a feeling that I may have to come back again soon to try and resolve this issue but in between now and then I shall try to resolve the squeak that is coming from the front left and right of the car but personally I don’t think it’s going to be a roll bar issue (just a gut feeling)

:D

Been moved to tomorrow :D

Hi Tony I haven’t been on for a while been so busy at work but regarding that dam creak that was coming from the rear off side coil over, I think I may have solved the problem.

Firstly the rubber “O†rings that you installed lasted about a week before they perished hay ho no worries.

The noise was getting so bad that I did 3 things at once normally I would only do one thing at a time to eliminate and move on but at the time needs must.

1st I turned the offside spring 180 degrees around so it matched the near side in the way it sat on the perch nut.

2nd I put a sh t load of cooper grease in-between the underside of the top hat and the top of the spring (even though there was no sign of rubbing on either part.)

3rd on the top hat in the boot I covered the rubber spacer with bushing lube with the hope that some would find its way in to the joint, and one of the above or all have worked and stopped the noise.

Any thoughts ?

My thoughts are your a star..... :smile_anim:

The O rings were new so that's an odd one.... Joe did cooper slip the spacers either side of the anchor point and no we didn't seal the ring.... I hope this has sorted the noise and i'm really sorry you!! have had to do this :blush02:
