Tony
All tyres have a manufacturers guarantee of five years. This guarantee covers the products construction not the level of wear. After five years then it's user beware. To aid you every tyre is marked with a 'week-year' of manufacture. This example is the 35th week of the 7th year.... 2000 0n an example could read 35th week 07th year. The consequence's of using an out of date tyre is normally this.... Although this is obvious structural failure the manufacturer has no liability for any consequence..... A failure like this is not advisable if it occurs on this.... To add complication the date is only marked on one sidewall, so you may need to check the inner wall, but please check.

Tony
It's a 4 digit no. on newer tyres... Correct as stated above from 2000 on the date would read as 3507 if we transported that example to next years date.
