MondeoGhiaX
hi. one of my rear tyres is almost down to the minumum, but the other one has about 3mm tread left. is it considered acceptable to replace just the one tyre? being a rear, and my current low mileage, i would expect the other tyre to last a fair while yet. i need to avoid spending money unnecessarily and may even be selling or auctioning the car in the next 3 or 4 months. cheers. joeB12
The driving standards agency recomend you change a tyre a 3mm instead of the legal limit of 1.6 . So you'll be better off changing the pair! Though if you do just decide to change the one, all vehicles behave differently with odd tyres on an axle
Tony
In an ideal world you should replace both but in the real world one would be just fine.
