vrba
is there an optimal tyre dimension for rims 8X17 ET35. Car is Omega b 2.5 v6 i am thinking of putting 235 45 17 and other solution is 225 45 17, original tyres were 205 65 15.
Tony
On a 8x17 you could go to 245/40-17 assuming this clears the arches.
vrba
thx Tony, you seem to answer my questions first and only. Car is not lowered so /40 will leave to much room, my question is in general what is better for driving and for car assuming that 235/45 is larger than 225/45 for apx. 1 cm. and by that wheel is almost the same size as original 205/65
Tony
40% of 245mm has the same sidewall height as 45% of 235mm so the arch gap should be the same.... As for approved fitment between the two it's a flip of a coin.... the difference at the tyres contact patch is minimal, personally i would be guided by price.
