Noel
Hi all, when trying the bleed the rear left caliper the other day after loosening the nipple a little and pumped the pedal a few times nothing came out ... so losened it alot and tried again and still nothing, so took it off completely and found the little hole on the inside section of the nipple stud rusted up, i cleaned it and freed the hole with a piece of steel wire.... anyway should i be worried that it was able to rust while inside the caliper? does this mean that other components may also be corroded internally... anything to do with brakes scares the crap out of me, had a moment years ago in a different car when a brake line ruptured.... got away with that thanks to the handbrake but it could have been curtains for me if it had happened 10 minutes earlier when i was bombing.... any advice welcome as to what to do next or am i worrying for nowt? Tony
It's unlikely the rust is internal since all the lines are non ferrous? (don't rust) .... What i would do though is a complete fluid flush. Remember to start from the caliper nearest to the master and work your way back.
