Tony Posted May 22, 2006 Report Share Posted May 22, 2006 an easy way to remove a nut from a spinning shaft (this will only work if there is enough thread and if the nut is not seized, otherwise you'll risk damaging the remaining thread) is to screw on 2 nuts, lock them together, loosen the offending nut, unlock the locked nuts, tada.......only works with a spanner on the lowermost nut though, obviously... (then buy your next man tool ) 2: Have the shop pump up the cost of her repair as part deposit for your own cars modifications 3: Explain that whilst mending her car you wont have time to furnish the gardening so she has to do it... then out of sight...... tinker with your own car instead 4: Make it obvious that you have spent.. hours and hours researching a resolution online in all manner of forums and suggested web sites, desperately seeking conclusive results regarding the issue....
