NickT
One for Tony/ black boots etc The mrs was watching that come dancing crap on Saturday so I was surfing you tube on car stuff and I came across a video of the Haweka quick plate system on a wheel balancer where it holds the wheel to the balance via the wheel bolt holes instead of using the cones. Apparently this is supposed to be more accurate as the centre hole is not that accurate apparently. Does using this make such a difference to the end result or for remount repeatability? I'm just curious based on real world results or if it is certain wheels that are troublesome etc etc
Tony
Totally different results on the Haweka. Basically the mount simulates how the wheel is mounted on the car. The centre hole is cosmetically central and open to more errors the thicker the wheel. French designed wheels don't have a centre hole forcing shops to use a studded plate. NickT
So are the results more consistent and better then Tony? Do you use this on every wheel when balancing as a matter of course?
Tony
Most times on alloys and wheels with known issues, BMW/ Merc.. Some years back we used to balance the wheels on the car which would include the discs, drive shafts, wheel locks and hub caps.
