Sagitar
That's still good advice Tony. There is an excellent advisory site here http://www.fireservice.co.uk/safety/chip-pans
Tony
Then i'm missing something....... As said in that link "do not put water on the oil fire" and yet they extinguish transformer fires containing oil and electric with water
Sagitar
It's all about how the water is applied. There is an enormous difference between the high pressure, high velocity, high volume, fine droplets that are used in drenching a transformer fire and a solid volume of water thrown onto a chip-pan using some kitchen utensil.
