So I may as well get two new tyres fitted and the front alignment sorted at the same time. I can tie all that in with a shopping trip to MK . Many thanks Tony for all your advice, I really appreciate the time you've given me in this thread. ps since turning the tackrods out by 1/2 a turn, the car doesn't follow the cambers so much and the steering is more positive.
