One off paint job as well, shame the sun was hiding. The guy said he will be at the shows this year starting with japfest It's also been a feature car in a jap mag but can't remember which one. Was in June 08 edition of Jap performance mag a 6 page thread on it main feature with free wall poster too but then only had twin hybrids fitted & my old wheels which still kept for winter use now has single conversion done & new 19" Sienna Generation II split rims on with Toyo R888 for rubber You lucky git... i bet the car puts a smile on your face every time you drive it....must admit the car looks ace.really impressed with the engine bay and the car in general.... wouldnt mind a ride in the passenger seat some time...

Thats awfull...how could they not be bothered to look for it. Those spacers are meant to be welded in place before they spray the car..? ....was it a Lexus dealership..? its not the same "Knock" as i have complained about is it Tony..? another " x-files" problem..

Tyre make and suitability is a problem, in fact one of the wim members recently bought tyres for his Lexus and there's major issues with the handling.... It could be said the P6000 doesn't suit your car?..... as for the change now i would say suspension deterioration. I wonder who that might be....?

Yeah i did wonder that only being 15mm as the sport is lower any hows.......id love aset of Billy`s but ....do you thik i can find any... no.. only do them for the IS300...dont know if they are ok for the IS 200.... OFF TOPIC....i will be coming in at the end of the week to order some new tyres...im going for the TOYO Proxes T1-R`s are these ok for my Lex Tony... IS300 billy's would be fine....... The Toyo's are great mate "trust me" Ok cool..will source the is300 billy`s...Thanx Tony..maybe go with the Eibach`s as i understand these are the perfect match for the billy`s..

Thats sounds good....How many do you think will attend Tony.... a very underated super car.IMHO.....didnt the late Arton Senna have something to do with the set up of the car..?

Hi tony....well the better ride comment was just because of the knocking noise and crashy ride....its abit hard to explain to someone on the net..lol.. the coilovers that i was showing you was just an idea only no defo commitment....just tyring to get peoples comments...well more like yourself as i think you will know better as regards to looking after my cars geo etc. Would you think my car would benefit from uprated dampers and coilsprings...? i dont want to just throw any old stuff on but mods to suspension that would benefit the car and myself...

The reason i want to get the suspension changed is to get a better ride and to make it a little bit lower..( the ride seems to be a bit CRASHY) which so im told is the damper piston is to shorter throw?? ..i definatly dont want to go really low just down another 15mm-20mm on the standard IS200 sport drop...and also better dampers.for better ride quality..... Its just the front damper on the drivers side has still got that crunch knocking noise...( its had new top mount,new damper...well so LEXUS SAY they changed it etc ) like the other LOC members have said about....one member has pinpointed the cause by the inner oil valve in the damper housing knocking...you can hear it inside and outside the car.......so as its getting on my nerves i thought well as im keeping the car i might aswell get the dampers changed and also drop the car a bit aswell... its just the price of lowering springs and dampers are the same price as getting coilovers.....but hence lies the problem whats best to get ..?

So Tony in your opinion what would be the best course of action as in regards to upgrading my suspension....dampers & coils...? is it true that you have to be very carefull as in which dampers you match to coils springs..? most people i believe go for Eibach springs .(i think on my IS200 sport it would drop it another 15mm ?)..i was going to put them with Bilstein dampers but i dont know which ones are best...and to be honest ive done a search on google and it only comes up with the IS300 not the IS200 Ive seen KYB dampers but dont really know what they are like..? I just thought it would be easier to get coilovers as the set is already matched..I.E dampers and coil springs....your opinion would be gratefully appreciated..also in the near future i will be uprating the ARB`s...

got "18"`s on my lex..225/40/ aspect...they are 35psi all round

Just thought id post this up on WIM....Rig-Pig on LOC has seen this company doing coilovers for various cars including the Lexus IS,GS etc.....just wandered if anyone has ever used them....at the price ( £579 ) i think they are good for the money IMO.and a few are looking to get enough interest in a group buy.....what are people`s opinion on them...? Yeah i know what you mean Caminhead....why build a car and let it be a let down with the autobox with out any creep built in.....the DSG gearbox works superb in the Golf and R32.RS4 etc........how hard could it be to make it easy to use in the R8.... :nowink:

Why are gearbox`s so pants in the R8`S Tony..? is it the DSG flappy paddle...?

I was at WIM when this was being sorted out.....to say i was shocked is an understatment.... just to think that 2ton of lorry doing 60mph trying to stop on those brakes.....is well......unthinkable..... Saved a life IMHO....

what cars have this on then Tony..? looks like a very complex bit of kit....damn expensive when it goes pear shaped... So would this have any affect when it comes to setting up a car..? or is it just the same as standard PAS...

I believe the OEM spec tyres for 350Z was bridgestone potenza REO40`s and they say that deviating from the OEM spec ones is a major probllem and can cause no end of probs with the handling of the car... In fact a dealer near to me fitted the incorrect compound and this resulted in the owner spinning the car on a roundabout and duffing the rear end. I measured this car and the damage was so bad Nissan replaced the car really.....fair doo`s to Nissan for replacing the car....the reason i found out was coz of it being in the japanese performance magazine...and they stated DO NOT deviate from OEM spec tyres it will cause handling issues......the thing is what do you do...say like what happened to lexus ...Dunlop stopped making the SP SPORT 9000 (LEX) tyres ......
