  1. Took the Hornet to Brands on Friday with roofless driver. Great day as usual, cold but fun. AM the track was extremely slippy, lots of cars spinning off and or taking the agricultural route! Managed to keep the Hornet on the blackstuff, although did have a couple of moments! Ran the Hornet on my sprint tyres, not the 888's, we had the 888's, but Sean had to leave at lunchtime, and I didn't want to swop the tyres back myself at the end of the day, so we stayed on the Avons. PM the track had a dry line and was a lot faster. From my data logs my fastest morning time was 1.13.61, ave speed 60 mph, max 89.9 Afternoon, 1.08.82 average 63.7, max 89.7 H
  2. Careful shooting. They missed the plate connectors at the top of the battery, they shot some of the plates away in the middle of the battery, so all they did was to reduce the voltage of the battery, once the car was started though it wouldn't last long with the alternator trying to charge it! h
  3. Has similarities to the Nissan Figaro, especially the wrap around softtop, only 10,00 made for the jap market, many exported to the UK. Based on the early Nissan Micra. h
  4. Isn't that faux fur? Flocking is like a shorter version of velvet. h
  5. Nah, they're just having problems moulding the rim protector correctly! h
  6. Methinks they confused ability and aptitude! H

  12. Came close to winning the lottery once, I was standing next to the winner! h
  13. The offset numberplate seems to be something from Japan, and is a bracket mounted to one of the tie downs. Normally there is a numberplate plinth above the centre of the mouth, (see pic of the Hornet below), when I took mine off, there were about half a dozen holes in the nosecone to fit the blasted thing! Need to keep the mouth clear as obstructions there can impact on engine cooling. H
  14. Too low to my eyes, plus don't like the stretched tyres. But then what do I know! How does it handle? h
  15. There is a red high temp grease. Something like this: http://motorcycleproducts.co.uk/catalogue/...se-p-12073.html Coppaslip thickens with age. h
  16. Do pop in say hello! Bring a helmet if you want a passenger lap, H
  17. Andy, you at Brands on the 2nd With MoT? I'll be there in the Hornet, if you are there make yourself known. (Probably easier to spot a stickered 5 than a black S Special!) h
  18. 35kg, less than a passenger, so I wouldn't worry about it! Another good forum for MX5's is: http://www.planetmx5.com/forum/index.php Lots of interesting stuff on the site, also have monthly meets in Cobham. h
  19. Possibly to release air as the nut is welded on? If it was to lockwire it, can't see why you would do that though, it would require a second hole. h
  20. I was looking for Sam's write up (iirc) on chassis frequency and user input to add this to Tony's comments, so people could see the original text Tony was referring to, and to have a quick re-read myself. I cant see it, anyone know where it is? h
  21. So you do. Just shows I never get into the nether regions of the forum. is it worth promoting these to be more visible at the top of the forum? h
  22. i thought the mx5 holemwas 54.1 not 64.1? Also no mk 3 listed as that is 5 hole. Is it worth adding to the forum a reference section, read only, where this type of info can be stored before it gets lost in the detrius of the forum? H
