    Cut in tyre

Can't the cut be drilled and a "mushroom" type plug be installed as though repairing a puncture?
  2. Consider getting the rest calipers overhauled but all for stainless pots, instead of full replacement that has steel ones that can rust again? Or see if you can get stainless pots yourself and foot them to your existing calipers if this is a common problem? Big Red comes to mind

    BMW X1 Tyres

Consider informing the car insurance company if you were to change from run flats to normal as they'll use any excuse to refuse payout. Some even charge extra to use winter tyres. I hate insurance companies at the best of times....
  4. Tony I've wondered why some manufacturers specify adding weights to the drivers seats or footwells of equal weight ie 70kg per side, when most of the time only a driver is in the car. What effect would this have to the geometry then if the mass of the driver was just added to the car and then the geometry done? I'm curious as it alters the toe position and front to rear thrust angle on my vectra from unladen to when I sit in it (steering wheel clamped and brake pedal held down with a tool) I finish up changing the geometry with the boot empty and half tank of fuel so that when I am in the car the camber on all wheels and rear to front thrust angle c is zero and front to rear thrust angle is zero etc. I'm a bit obsessive about accuracy so I'd like to hear your opinion on this. Thank you in advance
  5. http://pmmonline.co.uk/technical/toe-in-curve-adjustment-various-vag-group-vehicles/ How does this work? Does this adjust the toe dependent on height to compensate for arc travel of the existing suspension components?
  6. .... he must have done loads of self portraits then.
  7. Mine leans to one side, only happens when I sit in it though
  8. Seats look nice Tony, are they comfy? What's the plans on keeping them clean? Saddle soap or leather treatment like a scotchgard product?
  9. I thought that was your spider killer Tony....
  10. That is disgraceful. Servers are generally reliable, modern server OS's are generally reliable, and modern forum software (assuming usual maintenence is done) is generally reliable. And assuming you have good backups of the database and the web directory (for themes, attachments and so on, even if the server(s) caught fire, any hosting firm could bring up a new server for you within an hour or so, and allow another 2-4hrs to restore data. I can't imagine your forum setup is in any way unusual. It p**ses me off, as it gives us reprobates who work in IT a bad, lazy, incompitent name, Rant over. I'll go and kick the cat or something to calm down. IncompEtent I hope the cat escaped....! Yes, I.T. can be a thankless task, but so necessary in today's modern lives.
  11. The car is , I'm not Get well soon !
  12. Better than some "London Garage" / "Bangla Bangers/ creations. I'd still drive that thank boring electric cars though
  13. Looking good Tony, looks like a nice project to keep you busy
  14. So Tony, is the cure to set the rear toe to more toe in to compensate for the wear pattern and the effect, considering that they are not the driving wheels? This is assuming that the camber is not extreme of course
  15. What about looking up a mobile auto locksmith who could clone your existing working key?
  16. Just get records of what the same spec car is going for on places like auto trader etc and use that as your argument for the payout
  17. Or turn the radio up/ leave the mrs at home
  18. If you had the old pulley and the original ecu file with checksum how would they detect this ? Cough cough wink wink. ..
  19. If it's popped back into place and now it's just that crack then why not try another smart repair company ? Or put a post out to see if it can be fixed in exchange for your geometry expertise?
