  1. Excellent work there. Let's hope you get yours sorted quickly, if it's not done already.
  2. These links might be useful: https://www.haldexrepairs.co.uk/generation-5-haldex-fault-finding-repair-guide/ https://www.haldexrepairs.co.uk/guide-generation-4-haldex-trouble-shooting/ My interpretation is: The Gen 4 has a separate filter cartridge, like a fuel filter. The pump has a coarse filter gauze on the pump. The Gen 5 does not have a separate filter, but still has the filter gauze on the pump. I think this is why the dealer stays that there is no filter. However, the gauze on the pphone IS a filter! After an oil change in the haldex they are supposed to remove the pump, clean the gauze then do a relearn on the ecu etc etc. It looks like s the engineer you are, you've done the right thing in cleaning this out by removing the pump for inspection, rather than a garage mechanic following a guide on what to do on a service. You might want to look to see about getting the pump learn sequence done by the vag software. Great post as I'll monitor the 4x4 system on my soda superb, and I'll watch this post on your results too.
  3. It might be worth checking that the spring hasn't broken a coil near the top/ bottom before taking it in as this would effectively "lower" that side causing slightly more negative camber.
  4. So when will "WIM-Cam" be live then?
  5. That only seems like yesterday Tony!
  6. Good luck with it Tony, you'll get there
  7. It might be worth considering putting another security camera in to record the other security camera, daft as it sounds. You can't have anything these days.
  8. That's a win in my book. Another cyclist off the road
  9. Simply lovely piece of engineering
  10. Still very reasonable prices considering the expertise in the team and the high end accurate equipment, and far better value than main dealers for sure. It's an end of an era for the ramp, but I look forward to seeing the new one!
  11. It'll get to the point where it'll be cheaper to buy a new car or the cost of the car will become out of reach for the working family. ....
  12. I didn't see this until now, I was too busy in the "marrow" section. ......

    VW Tiguan.

Are you liking the look of the Tiguan or the mum? I'm at the age now where if there's an attractive lady in a sports car, I'm more interested in the car. ..
  14. The rear camber is adjustable on the inner bolts on the lower arms. They should have adjusted both adjustments to toe and casket to set them both simultaneously. This is assuming that the rear camber adjustment is at the extreme point of adjustment of course. As Tony suggested, the rear toe / camber value is set dependant on the height between the centre of the wheel to the wheel arch. Auto data book gives a look up table for ranges on this, and not a fixed value for all. The fuel tank should ideally by half full and the boot empty. Good luck fine tuning it
  15. It'd definitely be worth it to enjoy the drive back with a straight non pulling car like when they did mine many years ago. You could consider getting there for the job first thing then take it for test drives to take it back later if need it for a tweak. It's a shame that wim isn't a national chain.
  16. Did you pay with a credit card? If you did then call them up and use their services in recovering the money.
  17. I'd view the work as an "unsafe defect" as the incorrect locking technique / parts weren't used, so you shouldn't have had to pay for subsequently rectification work. If you can photograph the lock washers in sit now and when it gets up on the ramp with the company logo in the picture of they have it on the wall. A walk around video is even better. It's a shame you've had to go like this and it just shows the professionalism you get at other places like WIM.
  18. Made from the finest asbestos and lead too no doubt. ... !
