  1. It looks lovely there. Had a look on Google maps satellite view and the open space and beach right along really does look good.
  2. Amazing. I guess they can put more weight on and less manpower than cable cars. Just looked it up and it's still going today apparently, carrying 80,000 passengers a day. According to Wikipedia: The current fleet consists of 31 articulated cars. The cars are 24 metres long and have 4 doors. One carriage can seat 48 with approximately 130 standing passengers. The top speed is 60 kilometres per hour (37 mph) and the average speed is 27 km/h (17 mph).
  3. It does seem as though it is using a lot of current. There is no reason why you can't charge through the comfort connector from a physical or current handling point of view. I don't know the CT200 - Do they recommend disconnecting anything at all Rich in case it is kicking something off in the car using the current? The charger hasn't jumped out of AGM mode or anything has it? Could the battery just be very low so using more current to charge it?
  4. I was reading about this a few months ago. What the Egyptian Government are saying is that it would take too long to relocate people as it has taken years to get rid of the people and buildings that were directly in the way. By building the road it will force people to act quicker and move out. Allegedly they will be compensated. That's military rule for you. It will be a nightmare demolishing the buildings so close to the road when they come to do it.. if they ever do of course.
  5. Crazy idea. Cyclists would feel too safe (or bloody minded as it is their right of way), bomb it around the island and the drivers would really need to look around and behind to judge the cyclists speed. As well as cyclists being hit, any cyclist could go into the side of vehicles. Stopping to check would cause a terrible snarl up of traffic so not a good option for either. I wonder if the driver that hit the beacon in this case was trying to look around too much, while on a turn, while watching what was ahead? Poor design. Cyclists and pedestrians are absolutely different to motor vehicles and don't mix well. I really wish governing bodies could see that. Best option is pedestrian crossing if they need to get people and cycles across safely. The slower, less dense traffic (pedestrians and cyclists) must have an option to stop the majority, not have right of way over it as it simply doesn't work. History has proven that. There will always be human error and stupidity on the roads and governing bodies must bear some responsibility for that and not put people in that position.
  6. Relinquishing any responsibility. They walk away and leave others to clean up. They needed change there yes, but now would have been a time to step up, sort the issues then fairly vote a new government in. The place will be in a worse state for some time, especially as Covid is bad there too.
  7. From Sky News. Lebanon's Prime Minister Hassan Diab and the country's entire government has resigned after the deadly Beirut blast that killed at least 160 people. In a brief televised speech, Mr Diab said he is taking "a step back" so he can stand with the people "and fight the battle for change alongside them". He said: "I declare today the resignation of this government. May God protect Lebanon."
  8. You posted them in the forum issues thread by mistake I think..
  9. They are protesting due to years of government neglect. They sent the police straight in with tear gas and other in heavy handed tactics allegedly. The environmental and information ministers have resigned.
  10. Same here. Really missed the airshows this year
  11. Been stored there since 2013 allegedly. There story goes that a ship bound for Mozambique was diverted there due to mechanical issues. It was abandoned after there were some other issues and it was held at the port and the company went bust. The ammonium nitrate was offloaded and stored temporarily. Letters had been sent looking for other places to store it but were ignored. Could all be bullpoo and we'll hear 19 other stories by the end of the week. If true, you would have thought it would have been used or got rid of after a short time.
  12. Great that you got that close. It reminds me of a Vulcan bomber
  13. And I thought power filters were something else....
  14. That's you told Tony! Careful how you compliment.
  15. Depends on the current draw of any electronics that power up on connection before going into standby. Varies with each car.
  16. It might just be stabilising still. It shouldn't go any lower than about 12.2v-12.4v though. Ideally should rest at 12.4-12.6v but older batteries are a bit lower.
  17. Just do it. If it goes bang you'll know for future ref. I'm sure it will be fine, I'm just reluctant to say on a public forum as the manufacturers have specifically said not to. (depending which manufacturer it really is). Put it this way - I would.
