I qualified in the top 16 with 14th place, taking home 3 points for the drivers Championship. I wasnt expecting to get any points, especially for my first round so even though it was 14th place, I actually felt like I had won something major. But the main reason for posting this is Im looking for a tyre sponsor. If anyone would be interested or knows anyone that works in this field and might be interested please get in contact. Hey Tony, hows things been mate, hope business is still turning over good for you in this climate. Sorry I havent been around much, Im always thinking of you from time to time, been meaning to get the 180sx along to you know for some time, but just havent had the time or then funds, but things are settling down a bit now that I have the car up to spec and the build up to the BDC is out the way, but I'll give you a bell soon about getting her in. I passed my BDC semi-pro drift licence in Dec of last year and have spent the first 3 months of this year getting the car up to spec to compete in the BDC for 2009. So off to Donnington it was for Round 1 :blush02:

I didnt clip one cone all day, my silly mishap was while skidding round the left, with right hand down opposite lock, I dunno but she just done that f***ed off to the right thing which sent me towards the temporary railings, I managed to brake most of my speed down to about 5'ish mph and bumped the railings back by about a foot but that fibreglass bumper cant take much at all, dread to think what will happen if it meets something solid lol

Well I know I posted pics here of my S13 I recently bought for drifting, well I finally got to get out in her last Wednesday. Its so much better skidding a purpose built drift car then something standard. The control is so much better then a standard car and boy does she eat rear tyres, I went through 4/5 sets by 13:00 which was all I had so had to pack up and come home lol, one set of rears was done in 8 minutes lol, I couldnt believe it. Anyway got some really good pics and some video for you.....

Ash, As you asked for an honest opinion, I've got to say that your Supra is probably the best I've seen...except for that Bomex rear. Sounds like you have your own reservations on it too? It's certainly different, but I don't like it at all...sorry I do, I did more, it grows on you though. When I first got the car back I would walk around her and go "nice body work, clean, love the bonnet vent, love the Ridox front, love the skirts, love the wheels, love the whole car", then get to the back and I would wince, it grated on me. But Im not sure if its what a few people have been saying, you dont see them about much, in fact Im the first in the UK to have that rear. But I will give it some to see if it grows on me more. Thing is I have found, people not related to the Supra community like it more, everyone within the Supra community hates it, lots....... Im still thinking getting those side vents filled in and smoothed over will clean it up more, then a nice custom made carbon fibre diffuser to fit along the bottom of it to get it some more depth and maybe break it up a bit....... Oh, and she broke down tonight on the M3, had to be recoverd back but because of that plush new front end with built in under tray you cant even see the front tow eye let alone get to it, so I told him to use the front strut brace to winch it on, but it seems strut braces arent quite up to having 1500kg's hanging off of it lol, so its now a bit V-shaped, still it wasnt that I was worried about that only cost me £70, it was the £900 bumper and carbon fibre lip I was more worried about catching as it was being winched on. Suspected culprit is a failed fuel pump. At the body shop last week they said she kept blowing her fuel pump fuse, so got another pump and all fine. The knackared pump is an uprated Walbro only 3/4 years old. Seems the advice Im running of putting the fuel pump into a permant 12v state isnt advised no more on the Supra forums. The pump has an ECU that switches from 8v to 12v when tubby no.2 is brought online......

Yeah Mike is a life styler and cant drift...... Apart from that no, Im just yanking your chain mate.......never take me seriously until you see me taking myself seriously

Well I finally have my Supra back now, man does it make you appreciate the car more when you havent been able to drive her for 3 months. Anyway the overall finish Im extremely happy with, this car has taken me about 7 years to get it to this stage. The only thing Im not sure on now is the rear bumper. Now there is one other rear bumper that I still think would compliment the car more (Trial) except nearly every modified Supra that has a new rear bumper has a Trial fitted so I wanted to try something different, and after finding out that no body has yet orderd this rear bumper in the UK, and its half the price of a Trial rear I thought I would take a gamble on this Bomex rear......give me your honest opinions, cause this car is too close to perfect now to be spoilt by a tacky (my words) rear.....But fresh paint work without one scratch or ding is such a joy to wash down. The whole car Im now having trouble to find faults with, slowly everything is being replaced by new. So anyway on with the pics.....

Do you think it's true that running directional tyres backwards slows down the de-lamination? it is indeed true, some brands of tyres prefer being run backwards ...or should i say some brands run backwards dont de-laminate as bad as they do when run in the correct rotation Never knew that, I shall try that next time at Lydd.......thanks

Dunno if you know Sam from Drift Racing, but he has always taught me different......not saying anyone is right or wrong, but its good to hear different peoples opinions.....

Still have it, the engine is chocolate but there is a newly built engine in there with Wiseco pistons and a brand new turbo, except something is a miss with it, the engine wont fire up and I couldnt afford any more labour time for the garage to keep working on it to find what the issue was so I pulled the car out and its been sat at home since.......you interested then Friends got a S13 mechanically fine but shell is rotting to bits so would only really be interested in that for us to re-shell when he either smashes it up on the race track or it falls to bits LoL. PM me with price for the whole car or if you would be willing to split, just the shell ? Cheers Matt i thought most of the pro's used the hydro handbrake and when i was at the DWYB day loads of people had them there, I thought it work pretty much exactly the same (as in you yank it to lock the rear wheels LoL) but its just a lot more powerful ? More powerfull yeah, but I think the main the reason for hydro brake is it wont knacker out like a convential handbrake using a cable. Thats my take on it anyway without knowing handbrakes inside and out, which I dont...... You wont want my S13, she aint a good conversion base, think of her more as your first ever drift toy, she too is suffering from the UK's delightfull weather......I would rather be honest with you

I could find out about that, think of me now as an investment for the future, get me cheap now and reap later..... I am genuinely interested but there are some variables.... We have the "Monster" in BDC and "Team Green" but i'm not sure of the Monsters path next season, if the car's not drifting then yes we would love to take you on but there's no benefit to having three cars in the BDC. You have Team Green, oh dear, in that case I dont want anything to do with you lol.....they are all Cowboys, especially that Cerferio Mike character

Yes mate it was built by them, if that is Dan Joyces crew ? based down in Cornwall ? Havent had chance to get her along to a drift day yet but when I do she will be driven, she is my daily drive at the moment until I pick the Supra up this weekend, then I plan on keeping her off the road for a bit to have some bits and pieces done and a good checking over. So yes you will see me with both cars very shortly.....do I get a discount for x2 cars, a bit like buy one get one free, but Im thinking book one in and get another free lol We may be able to do a decal sort of deal Decals could be good

I might agree with the second statement, but really not sure about the first statement........

Obviously this is a business relationship i'm looking for so what sort of visibility do you think your car will have in the mags/ tv or other that will benefit me? Try not to read that as harsh but we do spend some serious time on our sponsored cars so it has to work both ways. I just thought I would offer lol, but erm, to be honest mate until I get my BDC licence which might be by the end of this year, or early next year, it would probably only be seen at a drift day once a month, I suppose I could see if a mag wanted to do a spread, I know Dan who owned the car before said that there was a mag interested in doing a spread for the car, as this car is one of the most well known cars within the drift community, that could have some benifit of having your name across it. But the whole coverage thing is all new to me mate to be fair, so Im learning lots as I go along.....
