  1. Twinkle i am fully blushed ..... Things read very safe for upcoming events, safe, reliable, and predictable is the word... then driver feed back is the final word! Don't forget when you are famous to say who set 'Mable' I must say janey i enjoy your passion and understanding of all things 'car' you are never scared, and display a aurora of natural confidence, this i find comforting in the set-up... I have a lot to learn from you. Aww you're making me blush now
  2. After seeing Tony today and him working his magic on Mabel once again, I want to put up some feedback on how she feels now, but....there isn't a specific geometry or feedback section. So until Ahmet feels fit to add one, I'm going to put it here Tony you are truly a saint She is now feeling unbelievably planted at speed, corners are a dream & there is no "ooppsss she's gonna go in a minute" from the back end But ..... take a sharp one (90deg ish) fast enough and she plays so wonderfully Perfect set up Thank You once again Can't wait to try her out properly on some decent twisties
  3. Good point.... Want a How aerodynamic are they Pretty good, small head bigger botty.....although the only trouble I have found is the annoying squeaking when they go through the air
  4. Good point.... Want a
  5. mmmm interesting I think I maybe starting to understand this geometry stuff Will be interesting to put your theory into practice Tony
  6. The MX's have a skinny 14" spacesaver which apparently you should only ever use on the front so if you get a rear puncture you have to put a front on the rear & use the spare on the front Amazing though, how many peeps have gone up to 15's or 16's but they are still carrying round a dinky 14 spare in their boot
  7. Thats scary It still amazes me how companies let people drive away knowing that things are not right Just goes to show how much an 'accreditation' of some sorts need to be implimented by the government.
  8. I thought the name was the best bit There is talk of them being used on planes as blow outs wouldn't occur
  9. Just been reading about these Any comments ? (Polite ones only please ) In 2005, Michelin unveiled their "Tweel" concept - a word made up of the combination of Tyre and Wheel. After decades of riding around on air-filled tyres, Michelin would like to convince us that there is a better way. They're working on a totally air-less tyre. Airless = puncture proof. The Tweel is the creation of Michelin's American technology centre - no doubt working with the sound of the Ford Explorer / Bridgestone Firestone lawsuit still ringing in their ears. The Tweel is a combined single-piece tyre and wheel combination, hence the name, though it actually begins as an assembly of four pieces bonded together: the hub, a polyurethane spoke section, a "shear band" surrounding the spokes, and the tread band - the rubber layer that wraps around the circumference and touches the road. The Tweel's hub functions just like your everyday wheel right now - a rigid attachment point to the axle. The polyurethane spokes are flexible to help absorb road impacts. These act sort of like the sidewall in a current tyre. But turn a tweel side-on and you can see right through it. The shear band surrounding the spokes effectively takes the place of the air pressure, distributing the load. Finally, the tread is similar in appearance to a conventional tyre. The image on the right is my own rendering based on the teeny tiny images I found from the Michelin press release. It gives you some idea what the new Tweel could look like. Bum..piccy won't come up Saved it to my page instead

    Toyota Rav4

pheww this only affects the top model t180 thats us safe for chrimbo pressies
  11. I think sensors are a great idea - if they make you aware & possibly stop an accident then thats good in my book On the point of 'run flats' being appealing to 'ladies' if you had sensors then you could get a man to sort it for you before it goes Although going slightly 'off topic' I do think that it should be compulsory that everyone should have to carry out a tyre change as part of the road/car safety side of their driving test
  12. mmmmmm looky here
  13. Just wondering what road tyres are the lightest ? Seems a bit daft that my new wheels weigh in at 5.5kgs (12.1 lbs) each & tyres average 8.18kgs (18lbs) thats like a bag & half of sugar extra for each one
  14. Haha I saw those on fleabay today My best bits so far are...Corbeau seat & Roll cage have made a real driving difference, the seat holds me in & the cage holds the car together Worst................nope, can't think of anything that's been done & I wasn't pleased with at the time
  15. Looks interesting Juzzy Should I try it out when I'm back at Tony's (post new springs) then we can have a full review
  16. Because it a nice word Are there any tyres within a reasonable price range you do actually like Jon....or are you a secret squillionaire Thanks for the advice guys, funny how every one prefers or swears by a different brand/type of tyre I need something mainly for road use, as have an abundance of wheels & tyres for drift atm and I'm not planning on doing any track for the time being. So........I just need something that in the wet will stick reasonably well to the road So I will do a bit of research and then contact my friendly guru and see what we can do
  17. Sorry I misunerstood you , only the Super Powerflows are available for the mk1 - sorry No probs Mark, I rather like my fetching yellow pipe & Apexi anyway If you want to pm me what you have for what models & prices etc i will get it up on the MX5 forums and see if anyone is interested
  18. Does that price include the inlet pipework ?
  19. Ohh the racing one looks sexy What super duper price would we be talking about Mark to fit an Eunos 1.6 Mk1 na
  20. Personally i agree with Dan.... Avon are great for lip stick but s*** for road grip. Ok...I think I get the drift So....which one of you boys can supply me with some Toyo's at a nice price
  21. Getting some new wheels (Wedsport RS5's ) which have Avon ZV-R tyres on...... As I'm a bit 'underlit' in the world of tyres I was just wondering what the handling/grip etc is going to be like on the Eunos with them ? Ooppss just realised I posted this in wrong place Ahmet sweetie pie, can you move it when you get a mo please
  22. Blimey its scary what can happen I guess a lot of us just presume that if the tyre has tread and the sidewalls look ok then all is fine, just goes to show what can happen if you don't throughly check them regularly *As Janey runs out to check Mabels feet*
  23. £9.99 seems a very reasonable price to pay in regard to the potential savings a member could make over a year

Well I would do things myself, but I need guidance and a strong man to help and I'm not sure Barrie has full faith in my workwomanship for example : Last week I had a day off work.........I said to him that I had 2 choices, either go shopping or play with the car...............he said "Go shopping"
