    What do you think

Actually i never set the car... another company phoned me and ask if these settings would perform the way the customer thought.... The answer was implicitly no! OK I'll have another go....running on two wheels and/or performing doughnuts after the driver has left the car? Spot on.... this car is intended for Donnington tomorrow (Sunday) The positions invite massive over-steer and will do nothing more than doughnuts on every corner (off)... Polar center away.... totally detrimental to the stable positions the customer thought would offer... Oh dear! Thats interesting as there was quite a few spin offs at Donny today by the boys in the 5's one even went off into the tyre wall (luckily he & passenger ok and just cosmetic damage to the car)

    What do you think

I need a clue What colour was it ??
  4. I can just see the slogan now Crafted by Lexus, Straightened by WIM I think the adoption should be noisy rather than silent Tony - give Lex GB a kick rather than the cat
  5. Aww shucks Tony (inserts embarrased smiley) Trouble is I want to do a bit of everything (impractical I know) although I'm far more comfortable doing circly skids rather than bombing round a track, and Mabel is my daily drive too so I'm not sure how far we can go on the set up as I have a feeling the drive to work each day could end up being a little precarious Maybe a test day is in order Or......maybe its time for me to have nearly as many cars as Barrie
  6. Please realise i am totally receptive to the logistics Declan offers but i feel there are gaps that i would love answered... Unfortunately in any form of competition a real advantage is rarely volunteered.... Anyhoo is Drift your flavour now?... if yes then we need to take the Nurburg set-up away and change Geometry shoes! Must admit the set up didn't make things any easier and a tweek or two maybe in order, (along with a new diff ) but as you can see she did pretty well
  7. mmm I think I am going to have to extensively question Declan
  8. Thats sounds logical Although the R700's do come in soft med & hard compounds It's Roadster specific apparently
  9. Yes we are talking for drifting Ok, need to know how it defies logic, please explain oh Guru
  10. At practice on Monday, I was talking to Declan Hicks (D1GB driver) who before he got the Soarer ran an Eunos the same as mine (although unlike me he had a turbo ). And he suggested I got myself some Rally tyres like these kumho R700's on the rear as they will grip better when its needed Any opinions/advice ??
  11. Me a nightmare Never I must say that the set up handled the course really well, Mabel took the slaloms & hairpins in her stride
  12. I may have been Although I was nowhere near the pro that Juzzy would have been The timed runs were great to watch and take part in I'm working on a time/model/mods chart at the mo which should be interesting as at the moment it looks like driver skill & attentiveness won over power
  13. Unfortunately juzzyp was caught in one of today's motorway no go zones and missed his Geometry slot... so we will all need to wait for the re-booking results ..... Oh and janey whats that signature i saw of yours in MX5NUTS... 'wim makes your car happy' .... Cheered me right up, i even fed the cat Aww thats a shame Hehehe I put a link into here and was stuck on what to call it so I decided on 'WIM makes your car happy'
  14. Well ?? what was the conclusion from today Had they knocked the settings out when doing the tyres ? or does Justin now need to donate his turbo to a good cause Tell me, tell me, can't wait
  15. Yep 3rd Sept @ Silverstone Pete - its being held at Trax
  16. LOL your head hurts....mines starting - I'm having to think mild understeer, but I hardly notice any difference from before You will have to ask Tony about that one, I originally had stock settings all round and then fitted -45mm springs which completely changed the rear camber which felt good & planted, so Tony worked with that, & all I can say is that its 10x better than stock Possibly - I'm not too up on tyres Running on 185/65/14's so dinky toys
  17. LOL Tony how did your post get there ?? Right settings as follows Front: Rear: Toe: L & R: 0.8mm = total toe 1.6mm L: 0.9mm R: 1.0 total toe = 1.6mm Camber: L: -0deg 31' R= -0deg 34' L: -1deg 48' R: -1deg 45' Cross Camber: 0deg 04' -03 deg 03' Caster: L: 5deg 04' R= 5deg 03' -------- Cross Caster: 0deg 01' -------- King pin: L: 10deg 11' R: 10deg 57' -------- Includ angle: L: 9deg 40' R: 10deg 23' ---------- Thrust angle: -------------------- 0deg 01' Interesting you are running on 30/32 psi is that for drift too ? I'm finding I need 36/8 to really get anywhere but then I am running 1.6 n/a so haven't got the power that you have
  18. Don't let the lights fool you! its definately a MK1! (unless you know of any MK2s built in 1992? It'll be cool to find out your settings... I find that the back comes around easy enough at speed without lifting off - in fact I'm being quite gentle on the throttle application to stop the back coming around too much (except when drifting of course!) I also find that tyre pressures are really important too. I run 30/32psi FR/RR when set hot. This makes the car neutral on the road, but on the track when the temps get up it becomes nicely oversteery! LOL Yes I did see you had put '92 (mines a '93) just that I have never seen a Mk1 with a Mk2 front before I'll dig out the settings when I get home
  19. First thing I must say is surely the pic you have posted of your car is a Mk2 not a Mk1 I'll dig out what my settings are as I found that on track & road the car is really holding itself down well & even at high speed there is no lightness of the front as there usually is, but it just takes a quick power on/off to initiate the start of a drift when you want it Keep getting the tips from Declan (Cpt Sideways) too....but start sharing them
  20. Any pics Dan ? or do you know which ones they are ?
  21. 'Stop it'.... now tigger is blushing..... Fact is this....... Most people cannot detect or read the difference in the set-up...... you do have the ability to command absolute requirements, i admire that! Future events validate what i am saying, be proud of yourself you are a very wise lady indeed ........ Oh and can i stick a wim banner on your car? i will pay millions, less deductions. can i have one , ill wear it with pride ......honest No Barrie, Tony wants to put one on my car not yours :D WIM banner welcomed Tony
