  1. Maybe a bush is stuffed or something is loose/hasn't been bolted back together properly to do with a subframe, and it resonates at that speed . Does it always happen at 75 or only when its warm, ie if he started the engine and went straight to 75 does it still vibrate? I understand thats not something alot of people can test not living near 2 lane dual carriageway etc...
  2. I got an icescraper mit, its an ice scraper with an elbow length mit to stop your arm getting covered in ice. Its kind of a long running joke as i got a ice melter once, which took longer to heat up than the cars heaters, so by the time it was warm the windows were already clear. And another that makes your hand warm by microwaving the scraper and it heats the liquid. Only thing was someone put it in for 2 min instead of 20 secconds, when it came out it was leaking like a mini fountain. So its kind of a joke in a theme.
  3. Looking good, , i always wondered what those big spoilers were for, they are the valet product shelf .
  4. The active suspension in my Soarer uses hydraulic fluid through the system and nitrogen in the struts.
  5. Its there ice and modification show car. So yes it is designed as a show car with a fully custom ice install that sounds very good, it has a few thousand hours spent on the ice build alone i believe. It says the project has has over 8500 hours, it runs 575 bhp, http://www.buwaldahybrids.com/speed.htm is a very long page with lots of photos and details on the engine. You have to remember this is for america, they dont have corners . The stereo wont be that light as it does have 6 Genesis monoblocks and 2 dual mono extremes, as well as a very custom interior that is ice based, but they are currently selling/designing there own range of speakers and it is also there demo car for that as well as performance and styling.
  6. http://www.superstreetonline.com/featuredv...x/photo_01.html 240sx with a little Skyline GTR under the hood. This is a very impressive modded car.
  7. Just think Tony, when you have taken a Countach on the gumball a few times and people get to know you, all these rich people with loads of amazing exotica will be coming in to see you at the new wim premesis to have the geometry set correctly.
  8. Maybe they did a deal with BOSE? http://www.bose.com/controller?event=VIEW_...ge.jsp&ck=0

    Tie rod.

Thanks Tony, i think it could do with full alignment after its been done as well as it had a new (2nd hand, needs its oil seals doing as well apparently ) diff a while ago, but not sure of anyone up here who can do a geometry check and when working he doesn't have time to take it anywhere as he starts early and finishes late. I think he plans on replacing it next service as he was only advised about it this time that it would need doing.

    Tie rod.

When my Dads car recently had a service and cambelt change etc, they said that his n/s/f iirc tie rod needs replacing, how much should this cost and roughly how long would it take, its an older style Omega v6?
  11. Are you sure its not just that the engines in petrols are smoother and thus the gearbox doesn't vibrate as much. Also alot of turbo diesel engines have to cope with more torque than there petrol equivalents so they perhaps have beefier clutches to handle it. Also the Peugeot 307 for example has that part, the dmf? dual mass flywheel, i'm pretty sure someone said they use these to help reduce vibrations on badly balanced engines. These tend to fail at about 4-5 years old costing around £1K a time to replace, but then the 307 seems to have so many faults you'd be a bit mad to have one really unless its a company car and you like driving courtesy cars.
  12. If a rear one was too stiff would it make the back end break away easier?
  13. Fly over to Tony, he can have a go at measuring it for you, .
  14. Is there any tyre rub trying to move forward . You'll be making american lowriders jealous with that drop, lol.
  15. I wonder what year they stopped pop up headlights and went to fixed units.
  16. Nice, its a pretty new one as well, is it around 53 reg .
  17. I suppose ultimately, if you want WIM to be the complete package, then you need to offer the complete package, if you don't have the equipment then you won't be able too. Of course if you would only get a 50% return on the equipment cost until it needs replacing then it may not financially make sense. However it would seem that people are interested and it would further enhance your portfolio for people interested in using your services.
  18. I wondered if it may be for cooling, as you generally wouldn't burn extra fuel and thus have extra fuel weight on board for no reason. I'm pretty sure someone said the 1/2jz-gte engines are set to run rich by 5-10% at times to help keep them cool.
  19. That sounds like it could be usefull. Especially if you plan on doing work that will change the weight/balance of the vehicle, eg installing a larger/heavier engine, a large sound system etc. It may also give you knowledge of which parts of the car have to carry more weight/do more work eg suspension tyres etc. Perhaps if done with every geometry check maybe 2 times a year could perhaps alert you do springs/dampers that are underperforming?
  20. With it coming up to winter i'd make sure you buy some tyres with good wet performance.
  21. Tell them you were happy to help, but would they like to donate some money to charity in good will. Or give WIM a free Lexus .
  22. Perhaps its down to the drivers driving style and something that some do and some dont. Or perhaps some run higher fuel pressure and perhaps run richer.
  23. Will the "expert" who fitted it be paying for its new engine?
  24. If you look at the pipes they have been connected the opposite way on the filter side compared to where the filter would normally be. I gather that should be the other way round? So the centre pipe runs from centre to centre with the pipe to one side going to the pipe to one side on the filter, rather than crossing them over as it is there.
