  1. Funny you should mention that - i found one as we were closing up.... needless to say, it's not much good now Isn't that what caused the "Random Sandwich"conversation earlier in the day Shaun? You're right... would be a good name for a band... Want to say thanks to all for a good day, and thanks to Dave for a ride out in his car. I think I would have been level with Lee in the power chart if we rounded to the nearest HP... who invented decimals, eh?
  2. I think this will help Rob - this was my car measured on the TDi machine in the summer. Same measurement of 1663mm both front and back (although these are measured to the outside of the wheels).
  3. Is the printed date the expiry date or the date of manufacture?
  4. Thanks for that. Well explained, Sam, so even I understood it!
  5. I've just been wondering why uprated anti-roll bars have different stiffnesses in relation to the standard. For example, the TRD yellow anti roll bars Tony fitted for me are 100% stiffer at the front but only 50% stiffer at the rear (I think - I'm sure someone can correct me if I'm wrong!). Why aren't they both 100% stiffer or 50% stiffer?
  6. Ok, Tony... here goes About 8 months ago I had an accident. Damage was done to the rear offside corner of the car. This was repaired with many parts replaced (I can go find the invoice if you need to know which bits!), and I was assured that a full geometry had been carried out. The rear end of the car felt absolutely awful to drive. Only pics I have of the damage: Whilst planning a trip to see the man himself (that'd be Tony...), I was involved in another accident. This time a shunt up the rear end from a white-van-man driving waaaay too close on a dual carraigeway... I insisted the car went to the dealer for repair rather than the same "approved repairer" that was used by the insurance company last time. I asked them specifically to look at the geometry which they told me they did (although I couldn't get a print out because their "printer was broken"). After the repairs the car felt much better than before, but because it is the dealer I assume they have set the Lexus to the 'incorrect' factory settings that the dealers must follow. There are some people that say the car will never be 100% after repairs like this and that you are better off selling the car to get another, but is that true? Will the geometry ever be recoverable? I'm guessing you must have seen some accident damaged cars come in. Any of them have geometry that was unrecoverable even after repair? Edit: can't get the pics to work!!! See here instead.
  7. The only major experience I've had was the day after I got two new rear tyres on my IS200. On a wet roundabout, only doing about 10mph the back end decided to go walk-about - I over-corrected which snapped the back end round the other way and the rear of the car ended up going sideways into the kerb: Whoops!
