Picking up my 64 plate C-Class Coupe AMG Sport Edition on Saturday . http://tinyurl.com/pfttdde I've gone for the C220 CDI with 7 speed auto in White. specs http://tinyurl.com/l733b9k I thought it was about time I went for something a bit more grown up and comfortable. I looked at loads of different makes and models and up until a few months ago was going for a GT86 but the deals weren't as good as I hoped and decided I wanted a little more for my money. Was then thinking BMW until I saw a C-Class coupe in white parked up on a trip out. Had already made up my mind my next car was going to by white btw. Hadn't really considered diesel before because I don't really do many miles but it drives great and the petrol engine option is a bit under powered imo. The resale is better this way to. Got what I expected for the Mazda selling just after summer lol. I don't really have the time to sell it privately anyway. Still time if anyone wants it though Closing in on 42 yrs old has it's advantages because for the first time I could afford to go new. The deal works well for me and is within my budget. (There will be a new Coupe next year.) I'm really excited to to be the first person to own/drive the car I'm buying. Just asking here coz I know a lot of you have new cars, what are the first things I should do to look after my new car when I get it home. Danny.

Okay all good points. Perhaps 200hp was a bit greedy, 180 has got to be reasonable like parthiban said. As long as they don't add a diesel option
-
Looking good, Z4 was the first thing i saw just for a second. I wish they would give it a bit more power, maybe 200hp or so. Most of the best hot hatches are pushing close to 300 nowadays.

Ouch! Should really give a few more details though if you're looking for some advice.

Sorry Norton not been around for a while. The 6/4 set, it's more than hard enough for road use. I'm sure you found this out by now though

Hmmm strange. I don't get any of those symptoms, not since on the BCs anyway. I have Toyo T1Rs i think. Although I did talk about some of this with Tony before he did geo so don't know if he set up any different.

Yes got to be a set up, very funny though.

Did you get it sorted Luckily I didn't need it today

Ouch...! I thought he was a hero holding it first wobble and keeping power in. Spose that's what happens most of the time though. Also looks to me like he dropped right leg out first.

Wow! Decided a while ago my next car will be white. -
Yeah I see that Saturday Tony. Looks like it needs some TLC. Now suspension is sorted I have a small list of things I need to do next. Not all expensive fortunately. Been waiting for better weather.

Yup fitted on Saturday http://www.bc-racing.co.uk/br-series-coilovers First of all thanks to Tony, Joe and all at WIM for a friendly pro service. When i arrived I was shown my new coilovers. We discussed how i wanted the car to look. Ride height, front to back etc. Also what set-up i wanted, and how it handled at the moment. I've waited until now to write this coz i have done a lot of driving over weekend and quite a few miles to a course for work and back today. All i can say is.... Amazing! I can't believe the difference it's made, better in every way, and not just the obvious. The cornering, turn in and traction brings a huge smile to my face, and i always drive out of a bend thinking i could have gone so much faster round there (if i was on a track of course) lol. Not just that though, the acceleration, braking and overall stability is much better to. This does lead me to think that the old shocks were a bit tired and could no longer cope with the lowered springs, or never really matched them in the first place. Steering feels nice to, maybe coz of the top mounts? As expected the ride is on the firm side, gonna let everything settle in before i play with damper settings. Currently set by WIM to 16 front 14 rear from soft out of 30. On rough surfaces the car does lump a bit, but saying that you can sense each wheel/damper doing it's thing controlling the movement not the whole car moving around. Funnily enough the ride gets better the faster you go on back roads . So i think i will be softening things up just a little to reduce the vibrations on broken roads. My cars feels tight, new and is a round-about eating monster. Has a great stance at an even practical height front to back. I really must pull my finger out and get it on a track. Overall Awesome! I'm a happy bunny.
