  3. from memory he was an army champion in a martial art, i think it was karate but cant remember the specifics. i do however remember reading that dispite his family being just inside and knowing he could take the guy down anytime he said he wanted to stay true to the morals of his martial art and only use it in defence, which until that moment the guy was merely being annoying and threatening.......then KAPOW! if only we all made such an effort to resist retaliation like he did.

  9. of all the things this car could be.....it never reaches any of them. engine, driven wheels, intended drivability and charactor all seem to be 30% below the mark and thats such a dissapointment, if this had been the pug r8 i think they would have gained a few extra fans, but it isnt and will only add to the impresson of straight run of the mill products from peugeot.
  10. the place reads kind of simular to one i went to in Naours in France. the place was rediculous, the sheer size of land covered by this place was staggering http://www.oakdeneautos.co.uk/adayinfrance/
  11. orbs are unlikely to be what your seeing there, this does look more like atmospheric dust or damp. Its difficult to see with the naked eye but when a flash is used they sparkle like stars. using a tripod with no flash and a very long exposure will reduce this greatly, as the particles will drift while reflecting such little light that they wont be easily picked up by the camera. orbs are anomolies which can be ruled out as atmospheric contaminants and are typicaly found when theres no light source strong enough to provide the lige they are emitting, they also dont drift in the same way dust or insects move, they are a lot easier to define in footage than they are in photos because obviously photos are still by nature
  12. your camera captures the colours very well, have to say you have indeed got to grips with your new toy quite well, your choice of pictures is very good
  13. i found my n/a mr2 to be ok in the snow on 17" toyo t1's. Taking it steady as you should and slow smooth inputs i was fine this last winter........untill a lady drove into the back of me not concentrating.......her engine was on her front wheels and it didnt help her at all!
  14. im only a member on here so shant dispence any personal advice, but heres the wim trusted fitters map http://www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk/tyre-fitting-centres.php
  15. lol ^ the major benifit of editing RAW is that you never alter the original image, the data stays safe. so you can play till your hearts content and always revert it back to its original.......with jpg though once you click save....thats what it now looks like!
  16. hey dude :-) That as you know is my pet gripe about photoshop, if you cant take the photo you want because theres a telegraph pole in the way or theres a building in the background, i wouldnt take the picture. It feels distructive and peculiar to me to say "that'll do, i'll remove the bits i dont want later" as my preference is to go and find the shot im looking for else where.......but then as you know i have inhuman patience! In my little ideal world all photographers would be able to say no to the neccesity of editing a photo's content for approval within the industry. You are quite right, hardly any images published havent had something done to them in post production so that they fit in with what the production team want. The pressure put upon magazine photographers to taylor their images saddens me, as it breeds photographers who wont take such care in their craft as they can "fix" it later. i suppose i see it as my niche, as i dont edit the content of my photos, that becomes the charactoristic of my images. the use of photoshop in other areas is on the other hand a very creative tool, post production to create something that cannot be created in any other way like car colour changes, 'digitial art' and filtering feels less distructive to me. ps, we took some great pictures that day
  17. i had the same issue with my girlfriends clio, when changing the lower arms and locking the bushings in while jacked. it looked like an off-roader when lowered back to the ground. simply dropping onto blocks was enough to get access to the bolts and get it right. its simple things like this that make a huge difference in the safety and road holding of a vehical, great advice!
  18. yup, was gunna say dont get so heated till you know its genuine! quite rightly its a case of if it was real...... but as its not i do think its quite cool, only in so much as its a reasonably well produced
  19. suprised he didnt ask you to just turn the tyres round! "but look how much tread they have on the outter edge!"
  20. interesting video, especially the metal casting section. ive been following this chaps thread http://vagdrivers.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=39794 very much into his home casting and i have to say its just absolutely beatiful to see!
  21. its a propper bow, unlike the laminate bows or the cam geared modern monsters!
  22. dispite the obvious attempt at conquering the wind, it almost looks like it should be in the fail thread great subject matter as always
  23. my sony does not have "live view" so its view finder every time for me. I prefur it this way anyway as you can select the focal point far better with your eye throught the camera lens than you can on what ever level of quality lcd your camera has. on a propper dslr you will be seeing what the sensor will see when you take the photo by using the view finder. however i have noticed that my girlfriend and also my mother use the lcd on their snappy cameras to help frame the image better, so arguably that might be a benifit as i sometimes take squew photos as the camera sits wonky against my nose!
