  1. I couldn't watch that all the way through - way too depressing!
  2. I can't imagine any MOT bloke letting that past. But if it was in the boot as a spare, that would be a different matter... Unless of course it belongs to one of these bloody new-fangled motors that doesn't even have room for such a useful thing.
  3. Agreed, the F1 is a styling (and performance) triumph. Last year I had a tour of some parts of the McLaren base and had a good poke round the F1s on show in the reception area. They're just as nice close up too. However I think that the Pagani Zonda just manages to tick one more box than the F1 to get nearer to my idea of perfection, ever since seeing one in London and wondering what the heck it was!
  4. Some days your engine just says "enough!"
  5. Ah, wondered if that might be the case. Will probably chuck a tenner your way soon!
  6. Here you go. Out of interest, can you upload pics direct from your home pc on this forum? I can't see how to do it here, but can do it on my motorclub forum.
  7. But this is definitely one of my favourites. Flooky shot through a gap in a hedge just before it started raining. Cat fixated on some birds in the hedge and unaware of anything else. Beam of sunlight just happened to light the cat and nothing else. Completely natural point & squirt photo - hasn't been altered in any way. Hope it comes out ok on here.
  8. I quite like this one from my Seychelles holiday in 2006.
  9. I didn't see her either - I reckon he just said that to get non-geeks to look! However I had a really good couple of flights myself this evening, once the wind had dropped, and am getting the hang of my much more simple 4 channel 2m electric glider. Getting a lot happier using ailerons and even managed some reasonable inverted flight with roll out to back to level. I'm very much a newbie to R/C planes, but I'm getting there!
  10. Have the tyres been fitted that way to correct a pull to one side? Going by Tony's post earlier on the marks on tyres, in an ideal world shouldn't they have, say, both reds on the inside (or vice versa)?
  11. Blimey - I thought it was a burst tyre did that, but the video shows it was just torque!
  12. Looks almost too nice - does it actually get used? If not, then its a complete waste.
  13. Excellent - wouldn't want to have been on the back seat of the bendy bus, would you?
  14. along the same stupidity lines...
  15. Fascinating seeing stuff like that - amazed at how clean the blocks are, must have been through some very serious degreasing solution.
  16. Bed time reading for Tony. Interesting question - hadn't thought about it before so fired up good old Google and found this. Seems they do have muscles to draw legs in, but use hydraulics to extend them. Still an incredible system in something so fine as the long-legged versions.
  17. The 'Ring is an absolute must for any petrol head. I've done just the one trip a couple of years ago and quite agree with most comments above. I found that the relatively low power of a standard 5 was a real boon as it meant only having to properly remember about a dozen corners as the rest don't register / matter all that much. I also went into the carousel too quickly and had the bloody thing actually jump coming out of it, but found that the outside kerb was ok to lean on.... but isn't it bumpy through there? We also were sort of lucky in that there were no bikes running as there was a treated diesel spill approaching Adenau, although that did mean technically an enforced speed limit through there. The toughest thing is remembering the blind brows - ie what's on the other side? Is it absolutely flat out or does it lead into another tighter corner? Take your pick!! Thoroughly recommended at whatever the cost.
  18. Thanks Dazz - I think there's something very benign-looking about Retriever / Labrador faces (most of the time...) Although hope that the old adage about owners looking like their dogs doesn't hold true for everyone as that might make your nan look a bit odd...
  19. Ah, so that's where I've been going wrong all this time! Devil dog...... Did you shoot it satan in fur. Nah, she's a sweetie too and loves her dad just like Tony's. She also loved the snow..
  20. Ah, so that's where I've been going wrong all this time!
  21. Think it would fail on the MOT as not covered by the wheel arches, but otherwise ok?
  22. Nice pics - how about coming along to Crystal Palace on the 30th / 31st May if you want to get some moody and variable shots? Crystal Palace 30 & 31st May 2010 Here's an example from 10 years back....
  23. Yes, beautifully clean, but such a mess with leads and cables all over the place. I'd have to do something about that. I've always thought the same with stuff like early Golf engines - an unholy mess of pipes wiggling about everywhere. At least most Japanese engine bays are a lot tidier and better thought out.
