  1. Until the club meet/group buys during the week happen Well yes... mind you the RX7 meet i canceled because they couldn't get enough numbers, probably just as well since i unlocked the 16th today and by the end of the day it was fully booked. Assuimg no headaches how many geos do you normally do in a day Tony ?
  2. I like that. Looks like a serious bit of kit.

I wasn't sure if old school Watanabes (jap minilite copy) would look right at a larger size; probably 16", with a 205/50 tyre.

I think some of the options are disabled. Probably don't want KF fools messing around with the kit. The Geo history database is especially uncooperative.

    Oh Bugger

    Okay, far as I know.
  8. Does the panhard rod effectily make it a 5 link ? Strange how these things work. My old Opel Manta GTE was 3 linked live axle and they were well known with nice, progressive oversteer. Same too of AE86 I believe ?

Maybe I'll try that too. When it complains, it defaults to the steering wheel positioning screen (as before a castor sweep, for example) and last time it was out a fair bit; about three quarters to the left.
  10. I don't know about KDS but the Hunter DSP600 I use requires weights be added/removed to reach a speific target ride height, so ride-height shouldn't be totally ruled out. That's a Camber issue, though less camber means Toe will be more dominant in the overall charicter of the car. Otherwise, what Tony said.
  11. you never know having a disclaimer thrust into his face may convince them to leave the car after all.

Yes. I only use s/a to ensure everything is correct before attempting an axle lift and then because the rig seems to take issue with it.

Had to abandon another axle lift as the rig insisted I should steer the wheels straight before finalising the lift. Which is great 'cos when you cancel you're left with a car in the air and a screen full of the Red Bars of Death. That was with a perfect Thrust angle and steer ahead. I discovered it didn't complain when I simply clicked "ok" without actually lifting the car. Well It doesn't want to display a Steer Ahead bar graph, either, which is annoying ie; I use to able to fill the screen with toe, total toe and steer ahead but it nowadays gives the choice for individual toe only. Really did my head in as the car (E46 3 series coupe) had (IMO) too much camber (-2 rear, -1.5 front).
  14. Probably not the 5-0 but I suppose you could contact the VOSA stormtroopers to reel him in ? MOT guys can contact VOSA but I do't know about garages generally.
  15. Yes Legally, no. So let's not worry about it.
  16. Sounds like it would be tricky to fix without a major re-think ? I think the fact the factory cars, albeit from a fair few years ago, displayed the same behaviour doesn't bode well ?
  17. oh wow is that the Dolly Cossie from RetroCars issue1 ? I didn't know it was still around! I nearly got a (standard) sprint a few years ago. Even knocked around the Dolomite Owners club forum for a little while.

Something that occured to me recently about lower/stiffer suspension with a larger tyre tread area; How to balance additional static camber (due to less dynamic gains) against excessive camber and violent tyre wear ? Is there a kind of middle ground or is that the choice between tyre preservation vs. a handling bias ?
  19. Shame they don't make Eagle Venturas anymore
  20. Might be worth adding something about an impact introducing a pull via the tyres ? Such as what i've had with the Silvia recently ?
  21. Just sounds a bit of a gimmick but who knows ?
  22. "Whilst several Motorsport Engineering companies offer a Suspension Geometry Setup service, we are the only company to offer a RaceDyne optimised setup. Put simply, we use our own custom built Vehicle Dynamics Software to dynamically analyse your car. By doing this we can assess how each measurement and piece of geometry interacts with another." hmmmm
