Those rally crash vidoes posted by the boss remind me of this lucky escape by Bertie Fisher, top Irish indipendednt rally driver during late 70s/early90s. This video is from his Opel Manta days in 1986. The clip description says Galway Rally but I think this may have been the old Circuit of Ireland ? Anyway he later drove a prodrive E30 BMW M3 then subaru legacy and imprezas. Please wait a few moments for Video to Load! Apparantly he was quite shattered after the evnt and didn't compete for a year or so aftwerward. FYI Bertie sadly died in a helicopter crash, along with his son and IIRC daughter a few years ago.

plays ok on the WIM PCs so I had a quick watch during a brief downtime. Sounds great, especially the tyre squeal ha!

Thanks boss! Drives really quite well, especially after mooching around in a 70bhp bluey, though the floor-mounted pedal and typically-german lazy throttle make heel'n'toe down shifts tricky. Feels like it's toeing out on the front too. Nice turn in but feels too light and somewhat vague. '83. Reg plate predates it slightly I think ?

Heh heh I don't care if it has a van engine the keyfob says Porsche, as does the steering wheel, so there! Acyually it's a "slant 4" so from now on it's "half a v8". oh and I've decided to call it "Parky" after the reg though I don't normally go in ofr that kind of thing...

like the vids! What you describe with the clutch sounds like "clutch kick" which the driters use to upset the rear and initiate a drift.

Wasn't reeally bothered tbh. Would have taken a little less. It did what I needed. I'm glad to have it off my hands.

If the steering wheel is creeping to the left then it's almost certainly tyres.
