  1. We could not match the gauge of wire to effect a repair, so we had no alternative than to fit a new wishbone!
  2. No, I wish it was a hoax. The car was booked in the day before, when I assume he had wired it together. When he arrived, he commented that it had just "gone again", by which I think he meant that the wire had snapped. The car was an Astra
  3. The car drove into our car park, "its been making a funny noise for a bit, but I just ignored it, and it's gone again" Slightly more worrying was the fare meter and taxi radio fitted in the car!
  4. "Pro-Drive chassis dynamics papers offered by TDI"" More info please!
  5. Tony Are there any recognised qualifications you can gain in geometry and wheel alignment?
  6. Would guess it could be something like a Merc Vito?
  7. Not long! It used to destroy heads whenever he drag raced it, they would crack across the middle plug hole. It was a bored and stroked 2.8 cologne engine, taken out to 4.1 in the end. About 675bhp in a 4 wheel drive cortina mk2. Escort cosworth turbos and Jag supercharger. He use dto have spare heads, diffs and box with him when he raced! Bit of a monster.
  8. 2 turbos, 1 supercharger, nitrous oxide injection along with methanol and water injection for charge cooling, if I remember correctly!
  9. Another pic, same car same engine!
  10. Anyone care to comment on this or guess the origins? Let me know if the picture doesn't work
  11. Take your own mushy peas! Southern chippys are dry! Best of luck and hope it all works out.

  13. A mate of mine is track daying an E36 325i, it is fitted with adjustable spring platform, non adjustable dampers. He has been experimenting with rideheight adjustments to alter camber. What variance in tyre temperature across the tread ould be deemed acceptable?
  14. I'll second that, absolute carp! or something like that.
  15. Countach is probably a rep. Didn't check it out too closely. had to get our tent down as weather looked like it was going to break and wind was picking up. Heres a few more, hope they cheer you up some more! http://noskooljustcool.proboards.com/index...amp;thread=1640
  16. Tony are the new civic not a mac strut, rather than the older one with top wishbone?
  17. Hi there Is your Civic a hatchback, same shape as a type R? If so then I think the data is incorrect as the 06 sedan has different geometry. If you check the data on the printout (ie the limits and ideal, in small print at the top of the coloured boxes) they are different than the info you have provided from the Civic website. What tyres are fitted as some are prone to a wheelbearing type drone, also what mileage has the car done, as some clunks could be down to general wear and tear. The change in dirrection of the pull/drift suggests a tyre problem. Although I think the front camber is supposed to be non adjustable, there is usually some movement if the front strut is attatched to the hub by two bolts. By loosening the n/s bolts, with the weight of the car on its wheels, this may increase camber. Repeating the proceedure on the offside, but with the cat jacked up should reduce the negative camber slightly. Overall this should reduce the imbalance between n/s/f and o/s/f. Other measurements look ok to me. Hope some of this helps but I suspect Tony may have a more authoritative reply soon
  18. Ultra violet degredation is also a factor. Look at the number of caravan tyre blowouts. Usually low mileage tyres but old, affected by prolonged exposure to sunlight.
  19. Struggling to find definitive answer but they cost more than twice as much as a std arm.
  20. Can anyone tell me the difference between std BMW bottom arms and the M tech arms ( not the ones fitted to M series cars)? The M arms are marked with a cast logo and a blue label on them. Had an E46 in fitted with one of each and it showed only minute differences on the readings, but would like to know if different materials are used to justify the large price difference.
  21. Not going to name them but they are somewhere in BL3
  22. Yep, sure is. Arrived with no lock nut on track rod end, where it fixes to steering arm and had popped out on route, from the bodyshop. Caused quite a traffic jam.
