  1. I thought it was all over but i took off both wheels today to check how the wear was going ....these are Goodyear F1's and have done 6000km's (3,700 miles) now it was the passenger side front wheel that was damaged by the pothole and it's the one that's been making the most creaks but this time it's the driver side that's gone bald on the edge... Tony please advise as I'm getting so sick of buying tyres for this car , i love this car but this is really getting to me as I've had crap cars over the years and never a problem like this.... what do you think is causing this .... thanks Noel
  2. With Altezza's, a 215 is factory fit to a 7" and i've seen a few newer ones that have 225 on a 7.5j , I have 225 on an 8" rim myself and they're only very slightly stretched as the rears have 245 and it's perfect for the 8j ( factory fit by Lexus on the IS250, not my own assumptions )
  3. come to think of it, where was the cameraman standing?

    Tyres

Best value premium tyre for me, depending on whats available locally as getting them online is fine but finding accommodating fitters afterwards is a pain ... previous sets, toyo t1-r (4), Goodyear f1(4), bridgestone re050(4), Goodyear f1(2) least impressed with the Toyo, most with the bridgestone
  7. S2000 as they're much more exclusive .... but being very high revving it might not be a to a woman's taste .... also you won't feel too gay driving it as opposed to a MX5
  8. less body roll maybe. @Noel, i presume squatting like a dog is a bad thing! Well to me it seems that the shocks are too soft ....
  9. Hello Dan, maybe elaborate on whats negative with the handling as it stands? The last day when you floored it she squatted at the rear like a dog ...
  10. True but it wouldn't take a minute, could even do it when the pressures are checked. Better to be safe than sorry... Or in my case, get paranoid with every noise and rattle and can't find anything wrong ....
  11. Tony, you'll have to drop this "horror of the week", and start a "daily horror" thread instead ....
  12. Would you care to elaborate? or re-read the 1# post ... cheers
  13. Ah ok, i'll do that when i get a chance... cheers
  14. It's not the supplier's fault but they will have to deal with the complaint, just turning a tyre on the rim may solve the problem. The older F1's are directional as you know so swapping them left to right would mean dismounting first Is this something to be worried about and should get sorted straight away or is it something that i can live with and won't cause the tyres to wear unevenly or any other issues? Visibly the left tyre has a white ring on the outer edge but the Right tyre didn't have any markings...
  15. My steering wheel has been spot on since i got the geometry done but fitted two new front tyres yesterday and now the steering wheel is slightly down to the left... what caused that as they didn't touch the tracking? btw i fitted the older F1's again as they were the best he had in stock... thanks
  16. WOW thats shocking .... they were very lucky
  17. Will do but it's in Co.Kerry which is fairly far South ...

  20. Hi Tony, what is your opinion on our final values? 1.5 hours of fine tuning later (adjusters were put in the day before) ... Camber is a bit more than you said but he said it might suit my roads better as i live in the countryside and it's mostly twisty roads, rarely a motorway journey... Castor is fine now, but the "kingpin" is gone outside tolerances but regarding importance where is that on the list and will i be ok with it as is? thanks
  21. Hi Tony, back again.... well i got adjustable bushings for the top wishbones and put them on today and going back to my geometry guy tomorrow.... set them to max for now hoping that he can use the lower OEM adjusters to get a nice balance? although you can actually see that i now have excess positive camber and the wheels are out alot more at the top ... you called it spot on regarding wear on the insides of the OSF, but it is way more severe than ever before, (i have a picture that i'll put up later) but from the reading in the scanned print out above is this totally due to the camber? have done 6000km's since and there's actual threads exposed now what readings should i insist on tomorrow to cure this dreaded inner wear? camber -00.30 on both fronts? Toe? as close to 0 as possible? thanks again just gone gold as I'm very grateful for your advice to date
  22. Full Geo... The Hunter before mine. Perfect example of having the equipment but not the knowledge then! Good job they found WIM shocking that they'd spend the money on a good machine but didn't spend on proper training...
