Tony
Some really wonderful cars there, makes you think why the owners would risk them on a climb....... Also i must say the picture quality was also wonderful.
Mark H.
Thanks, definitely alot of moneys worth there. Someone fell out of their car at the s bends but hopefully they have recovered, quite a few owners of these cars are older gentlemen (the only people who can afford them) stopped the racing for about an hour while the driver was taken away. Tony
Blimey that's a bit drastic, i assume it was a car with no belts?
Mark H.
If you check out the pictures again you'll notice that pretty much none of the open cars have any belts. I doubt they were legal requirements at the time.
Tony
I thought under race/ challenge conditions belts where mandatory even if it's only a lap belt.
Mark H.
Watching the top vid plenty of cars have no belt, with alot of these cars you are better being thrown out than having the car roll over on top of you being held in at the waist. Alot of these cars are so narrow, there really isn't anywhere to mount a belt. Takes serious guts to drive these cars. One was being driven up the hill by a person with one arm, big respect for that, not easy hanging on, steering and changing gear with levers at the same time. Tony
Beggars the mind how he could do all three with one arm

Tony
Fair play...... What happens to the steering while he changes gear?
Mark H.
Hold it with his knees perhaps.
Tony
Clever fella.... I worked with someone with one arm and he was a welder, wore shoes with laces and put most in the centre to shame.
Mark H.
Alot of people learn to adapt, especially if its their passion. I guess it is in their interest to learn to do it as best they can if they enjoy it.
