proser
Hi, Newby question/issues. Just had my car put on a hunter system and got the following results: The car is a 2000 Merc E320Cdi Elegance Estate, with Avantgarde springs all round and shock s on the front. Self levelling on the back. I can accept the front reading, as it needs adjustable camber bolts fitting What I can't understand is the rear left reading, as the wheel visually was more vertical than the right one. This was confirmed by two of the guys at the centre. What spec of vehicle should be put into the hunter system ? Any help and advice would be most welcome. Tony
Hello The front position's will be whatever the bolts give you, as for the NSR you need to look for a bend, it's probably the upper arm.
proser
Thanks for your prompt response, I'll get a new arm What I am a little confused about is that the NSR wheel looks more vertical that the OSR but has a higher negative camber Mark
Tony
Opens the question about their machines accuracy?.... Measure the distance between the centre of the wheel to the wheel arch both sides and see what you get.
proser
NSF: 340mm OSF: 337mm NSR: 350mm OSR: 345mm
Tony
That's fine...... So assuming the machine is within calibration we have to say there is a bend however it my look.
proser
Thanks for that Forgot to say in original post; have original spec 18" AMG staggered wheels with 235/40 and 265/35 tyres Should I request that they setup against the specs for an Avantgarde model with Level Control, with the changes I have done ? or are the specs the same as an Elegance model Mark
Tony
Your handcuffed due to the way the front cambers adjust, all that need to change is the rear toe values because of the wider tyre, i would set this to +10' per side.
