jimmy
i have just found this site from the mx5oc site. i have just polybushed my car after lowering the suspension and looking at alignment now as have changed all alignment bolts as wanted to start from new. im looking for a setup which is for fast road so doesnt wreck my tyres in no time like a track/race setup but handles as id want it to as i will be doing trackdays early next year. what sort of settings would be best for this? thanks jim
Tony
Hello Jim Of the eight adjuster cams it only takes one to max out then the whole calibration would need to be rewritten. Historically you need a more aggressive camber front/ rear, a long castor, more toe on the rear and no toe on the front (on bump)
CIH
Cam I take a guess ? Camber to aid overall grip, the castor to aid turn-in and the rear toe to combat excessive understeer ?
Tony
Cam I take a guess ? Camber to aid overall grip, the castor to aid turn-in and the rear toe to combat excessive understeer ? Good apart from the castor, for turn in you would want a low castor but for steering returnability and high speed stability you need the high castor. Most of the Drift cars like the high position, whereas the hill and sprint like the low.
CIH
I thought Castor assisted SR migration ?
Tony
I thought Castor assisted SR migration ? It does hence the steering return, but Drift and sprint have very different needs.
CIH
Are those sprint bias figures ?
Tony
Are those sprint bias figures ? It depends on the corner averages...... most times there symmetrical.
