satans_bunny99
Hi, Just wondered if anyone had any ideas about this problem with my steering. I have a Lotus Elise, which I should say now doesn't have power steering (no weight, so doesn't need it!) When I first start the car it seems ok, but after 10-15 mins of driving the steering goes really heavy, especially when turning the wheel left (though that bit may just be my imagination!). I'm not technically minded, so I don't know, maybe wheel bearings? It feels like a power steering system packing in, but thats obviously not the case here. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks in advance
dazz33
Maybe its your power steering pump packing up?
Tony
Hello Reads very much like "memory steer".... It's an easy diagnose to be honest. All i would do is drive the car until the condition arises then quickly jack it up and remove the steering arms from the hub, the pivotal feel of the hub/ rack would determine where the criminal lies. Gut feeling i think the problem is the NSF lower swivel.
