jon
Anyone ever used a bubble balancer? I seem to be changing tyres quite a lot and I'm quite anal about balance so I was thinking I could by one of these and do it myself. http://www.jcwhitney.com/webapp/wcs/stores...p;storeId=10101
Tony
I used them for years....... Excluding on car balance the most common method is off car dynamic balance. Explanation/benefits Dynamic balance will also measure lateral run out and the oscillation of a ovaled wheel. Dynamic balance divides the wheel into 36 10 degree sections identifying a light spot. Dynamic balance calculates the exact area and weight needed to balance the wheel. Static balance does not measure run out or oscillation. Static balance does not suggest the actual weight or exact position to place the corrective weights. wim says I definitely prefer static balance It's a proven old school method that works.... Ok it's not as easy a dynamic but since wheels and tyres are surgically made nowadays, old school static with some time and attention is superb!
