Tony
I would love to know more about this record and confess i'm slightly confused because it appears the driver changes gear? I was under the impression all electric cars didn't have gears
andyelcomb
"The model that Genovation used for the GXE was the 2006 Corvette Z06 customized with an advanced battery management system with electric motors and inverters. The setup allows the vehicle to pump out more than 700 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque, with a six-speed manual transmission and range of about 150 miles on a full charge." Tony
Fair play to them and no disrespect but how come they can develop such a battery configuration and yet the domestic electric car manufacturers can't. 700hp with a 150 mile range equates to one hell of a battery life by domestic standards. andyelcomb
Ah, but like all the other EVs you can't have the stated power and range at the same time. I would imagine that the speed run used up the whole potential range in one hit, but if you wanted to go 150 miles, then you'd probably only be able to do it in 6th gear, at no more than 30mph and on the flat with the wind behind you... Tony
I bet you're 100% right there........ I didn't think the speed and range fitted considering the restrictions other manufacturers have with the charge.
