  1. There is some free third party software for Canon point and shoots, that loads off the memory card and leaves no trace on the camera, that will allow you to save in RAW format. Also adds loads of other features as well. I may have posted about this software earlier. FeaturesProfessional control - RAW files, bracketing, full manual control over exposure, Zebra-Mode, Live histogram, Grids, etc. Motion detection - Trigger exposure in response to motion, fast enough to catch lightning. USB remote - Simple DIY remote allows you to control your camera remotely. Scripting - Control CHDK and camera features using ubasic and Lua scripts. Enables time lapse, motion detection, advanced bracketing, and much more. CHDK, the wiki is here: http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK Have it on my camera but dont use it as it's an older one with a small screen, so I cannot read the menu! h
  2. Tony, for those who don't know what they are looking for, (me) can you explain what we are seeing that is wrong? Both bushes the rubber seems to be perished, or are the lines in the bushes show the bush was tighend at full droop. The second pic also seems to show a welding failure? Or have I missed it completely? h
  3. Is that a cue for a run flat joke? h

    Mazda MX-5 suspension

An ARB, if it's the standard one should be cheap to pick up from with a scrappy or someone like Autolinkuk who break 5's. I would suspect the bending of the ARB has changed it's characteristics which is leading to the handling issues. If you haven't done already, I'd go around and check the remainder of the suspension for peace of mind. Are the drop links OK? h
  5. At the speed F1 goes at the tyres enlarge due to centripetal force. h
  6. Thats my guess (uninformed) as well. h
  7. Where can one get steelies? h
  8. I am speechless at how they can say everything is in spec and ignore the tryre wear! Well done WIM. h
  9. European registered car, they drive on the left hand side of the road therfore he's lost it and spun! Can't be an English road as it's no potholes and edge lined! h
  10. Bought the PPC mag as there is an article on 'Suspension Geometry - the basics explained' There is a drawing captioned Swivel Axis inclination, which shows KPI and is referred elswhere as SAI. Is Swivel axis inclination an accepted term? Never heard of that before? Trying to work my way through the rest of the article! h
  11. I know that Tony, These people do it to willy wave, the view counter being their guide to how 'good' they are. The more we view them the more views they get and their ego's get massaged! h
  12. I have to ask the idiot question, 'cos I am, what makes these tyres so special? Size or compounds/manufactrure? Aren't the compound/manufacture thing just to tie you in? Won't another tyre of the same speed rating be OK? (Considering that most of the drivers of these cars will never take them close to the limit?) h
  13. Which leads to the question: Should we be putting links up to such dangerous driving videos as it only perpetuates people posting more of them? If they think people will watch them, they will post more of them, in a 'look at me' willy waving fashion. Discuss. h
  14. I've waited and waited but no video loads! h

You could help out the driving community by 'recycling' a sleeping policeman! H
  16. Agree with Andy, poor lines, not smooth, coming onto the power in corners too early/booting it, causing the back end to come out. Showing off to a friend me thinks. h

Do you mean an Car Limits day? Andy Walsh runs these at North Weald, if you are a member of Lotus on Track, they can be had for around £30/£35 per day but are vey popular and fill up quickly. Alternatively they can be arranged indepently as a group of 4 per day or up to 20 per day iirc. http://www.carlimits.com/ His video is worth watching also! h

  20. Even though you cannot stop them doing their own thing, "But WIM never mentioned to me that it was dangerous that I only had three wheels and the same number of brain cells, so it's their fault I crashed!" Maybe you ought to make notes on their invoices so they can see and you have a copy if they ever should try to blame you! Invoicing systems should be able to cover this, garage invoices can put things like "Customer own parts fitted so no warranty on these parts" Remember the woman in the American furniture store, who tripped over her own child, who was playing, and broke a leg? She sucessfully sued the store! h
  21. I hoped that you got him to sign the disclaimer? h
  22. I'm surprised they even allow matches/lighters in such an area! h
