i see your point ok for starters 1/4 mile races at santa pod i guess: low front tyre pressures hard damping at rear now would the front damping be better soft or hard and would camber be worth considering

tony what sort of set up would be best for say : a front wheel drive car for maximum traction off the line ie: tyre pressure hard /soft damper settings and again how would this differ from a track setting its all very well having adjustable dampers, but knowing how to set them would be handy

is it a con ? or is it the fact that the technicians ( ) dont know what they are doing or what they should be acheiving to go through the motions and end up with a result is what the techs do and most of joe public accept if only the public had the knowledge to say "its not right" then maybe these centres would look into training and giving a good service the problem is: that bad geometry wears tyres down, worn tyres is every tyre retailers fortune , so in theory the worse they set the geometry the more trade they get a viscious circle for the retailer,

IS200 originally had the tien coilovers, found they were bumpy, and very noisy and didnt really handle that well since have changed to the TTE coilovers and found a vast difference, smooth and quiet no damping adjustment, but to be honest it doesnt need it, set up perfectly, and give great confidence in handling Starlet original lowered springs, very soft now running D2 coilovers , very firm ride, superb handling, and infinetly adjustable although a bit noisy, but altogether ideal for a trackday car, for everday use i wouldnt recommend them although the tien coilovers are well known and well liked , i feel unless you are spending big bucks on the top model ones, there are far better choices out there TTE are tried and tested, they were produced for the car and in my mind are just about perfect
