  1. Can't remember the exact mileage when they were fitted. But I reckon about 20k? I do less than 5k a year in it now, so that's rough 4-5 years ago.
  2. I really liked these tyres when I had them on the front of the ST
  3. The inside of that disc look how mine were
  4. Please excuse my ignorance, but contamination from what? Do you mean rust? If so, everything was cleaned up with a wire brush.
  5. Today my mate and I fitted the Pagid stuff from ECP. All came apart easily, I was surprised to see the OS had exactly the same problem Pics: Both discs showing uneven wear on the inside (this pic shows both discs, one on top of the other) Pads We were at a loss as to why this happened. It's as if the inside edge of the disc was a harder material than the rest and hasn't worn at the same rate as the rest of the disc? A manufacturing fault maybe? They were Ford OEM items. Anyway we cleaned everything up and refitted applying copper grease in the appropriate places. All seemed well. A quick spin home on the duel carrageway revealed the drumming noise has gone, so I'm a happy man for now. I will just have to keep an eye on them.
  6. There are a couple, new on eBay from reputable sellers
  7. Thanks Rich, Looks like there is a GSF down the road, They sell Vtech discs & pads? Brembo discs and Bendix pads? Will have to call Motex
  8. Prob go for the Pagid ones then They are only 17 quid more and it's convient as I can collect they from Euro car parts rather than dealing with delivery with no one at home during the day. I think ECP also do cash back via Quidco too.
  9. No mate, I just put the spare on, the noise is definitely from that corner and I figured if the noise was still there with a completely wheel and tyre it obviously wasn't the tyre in the first place
  10. Nice cars these, I always love driving them. The AMG bit is referring to the sports styling kit, nothing to do with the performance. Any reason you didn't go for the new shape C class? Or did you get a deal on this?
  11. Cool. As are most people now a days I'm on a budget. Obviously brakes are very important and don't want a product that will fail after 5 mins, but I also don't want to pay top dollar if you can get an acceptable product cheaper. What are your opinions on Mintex? http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm?itemId=261328972818
  12. Today I swapped the wheel for the spare and went for a spin. The drumming noise under braking was still there Once back home I took the wheel off again and inspected the disc. I don't know how I missed this, but the pad on the inside was only making contact with 2/3rds of the disc leaving a ridge where there was no contact. I didn't take anything else apart incase the pad fell apart. So it looks like new discs and pads are in order. Actually do I have to replace both sides or can I get away with just the one? Pics Inside Outside
  13. Some good stuff info there, thanks! I will have some time this weekend so I will move some wheels around
  14. Hi Tony, Apologies for not replying earlier been out all day. I have discovered that the noise does not disaper when turning left or right on the motorway, so I'm guessing that rules out the bearing? This noise is a different noise to the one I get when braking. I will swap the wheels over later this week and give it a try at the weekend. Could this possible tyre fault also cause the drumming I'm getting when braking?
  15. The noise is currently the only present at speeds of 50+, even tho I try taking corners at that speed, the wife doesn't appreciate it. So I can't tell at the moment. 😉
  16. It's only just started to make a noise, but at the moment I would say its a whine
