  4. No I didn't. That was the conclusion that you jumped to.
  5. If I had any concerns Lee, I'm sure people would know about it by now. If you do have any concerns I suggest you have your car inspected. Better safe than sorry. I really can't see why your so relaxed about it though. A customers car that was in your workshop had a standard part spontaneously combust and nothing has been done. Did TDi do there own investigation on the problem, or was it a known side effect of the modifications you were doing? I'm sorry but you have been misled. The car didn't sponateously combust, not was it in our work shop. I would only be concerned about it if someone else had a car that was exactly the same, which I don't believe anyone else has. We have our opinions on the cause, and do not feel the need to share them as there is no impact or concern for anyone else. Phew, thats alright then, I was getting worried then. Glad there is nothing to be concerned with and it was something to do with the modifications. Cheers again. It's never good to jump to conclusions, but I'm glad you're happy now

  8. As I mentioned above, the car was totally unique so I wouldn't worry about it. Sorry but I'm still worried unless what happened was something done during the modification caused the part to fail then the fire. Of course if thats the case then I agree I've not got anything to worry about. Could you confirm this ? Sorry to go on but I've a 2 year old child and am worried sick something may happen when my wife is using the car...doesnt bear thinking about. That is understandable. I have young children myself. I would not like to be resonsible for your decision so if you want to put your mind at rest you may be better off having your car professionally inspected.

  10. Hello, I'm a little worried about this statement What standard part failed and caught fire, what are the chances of this happening to someone else. Think this needs to be made public and everyone aware of it, after speaking with a tech guy at Lexus he has never heard of a standard part catching fire. Think Lexus GB need to be informed incase this turns into a real problem. Cheers Lee. I haven't heard of any others catching fire either Lee, plus the car in question was totally unique so I wouldn't worry about it.
  11. The question was regarding the issues of engine reliability when a stage 1 boost upgrade is fitted to a supercharged Lexus is200. I reiterate that we do not know of any engine reliability issues. The car that you named did not have any engine reliabilty issues. It experienced a small fire due to the failure of a standard external component totally unrelated to the stage 1 pulley kit. Do you understand the difference now? We did indeed repair the car at a reduced cost to our client. This was a sympathetic consideration that we have done for quite a few pew people that have suffered unfortunate circumstances. Some of our clients take comfort in the knowledge that TDI is sufficiently well established to be able to undertake sympathetic measures when needed.
  12. No Paul, it didn't have any serious heat issues or a few fires, that I know of anyway, but then we haven't seen the car for a couple of years or so. I know of one small engine bay fire that was caused by the failure of a standard component. I don't believe this has any association with the integrity of the standard connecting rods
  13. OMG would you look at that Mark, youve gone and posted up a dyno chart, i do hope you had permission from the owner ;) There were no confindentiality sensitivities with this client Paul. Yes, that is a valid concern but the very first stage 1 upgrade we did was on a standard engine. That was done years ago and is still going strong as faw as I know If i were considering the stage 1 my question would be "is this ok for the standard engine or not?" Unfortunately the answer isn't that simple. We have not seen any engine reliability issues with engines fitted with the stage 1 pulley upgrade, but we know of broken connecting rods on engines with less power. The only supercharged engine that we have actually seen that had broken rods, had the standard boost pressure but was seriously abused (to the degree that is unlikely to ever happen again). I have heard of other engines with broken rods but do not know the circumstances. Personally, I would take some comfort knowing that no stage 1 engines that have been professionally tuned have not had any reliability issues over the years, so would go for it Wasnt Kieron's a stage 1 s/c'd jobby.. That was the first one we ever did a few years ago.
  14. It's measured at the hubs Yemgi. A rolling road measures at the point of tyre contact.

  17. Very similar to yours except that he still has the main cat and has a stage 1 pulley It would be interesting to see yours with a stage 1 pulley.
  18. We just finished another LOC members car recently. It's a shame it wasn't ready for the LOC meet because it would have been the best over all on the day. This shows the power and torque with and without the Camcon ativated.
  19. Which kit do you mean please Chris?
  20. I was in Italy recently and I can confirm the following: 1. The women are magnificent 2. The drivers are nutters
  21. Looks like it's going to be a bad day.......
  22. Perhaps we should have some special signs made: "DANGER - THICK PERSON IN CHARGE OF LETHAL WEAPON" Oh dear
