  1. One of these is are JIC adjustable tie rods. And the other are pillowball erm...bla bla (dont know in english, but pink bits ) Kazama, also adjustable in height with special spacers. With these thingies i believe i will be able to fight bigger steering angle as tie rods are longer and the other pilowballs if installed upwards and even if not can help fighting ackerman At least i believe so Well, i got these bits inspired by this topic
  2. Couple of bits i just got in for our drift Altezza after conversations in this topic
  3. Without giving to much away, what areas are you looking to improve? Modified steering as suggested here, want to see if it does any good. Mechanic spent half day to give this a try, i will post some pictures later of work done!
  4. Snow has melted, our new project 300zx is finished, its cold, but dry, just done suggested setups. Time to take it for a spin and get some feels of new setup
  5. Yes, this was my mistake for a bit in understanding this topic, that's why Sam pointed that out! I'm just a learner, starting from a scratch few years ago and slowly picking up bits by bits! Now i have a place and material to try experiment as well as some skill in driving. One thing is driving sideways and just understanding something is not correct with the car, the other already is driving sideways and understanding WHAT is not correct and what has to be done to to get things better, thats what i am aiming for

  7. http://www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk/forum/ind...p?showtopic=949 I think this is what Sam meant
  8. Chasing up and following in your footsteps
  9. Yes you are correct i didnt quite express myself right, hicas would not be the correct name in this case ! The joint i mean looks something like this at the end of the rod, not just a ball joint like it is, but a joint like pillowball joint to reduce slop.. Something like this http://www.speedstar.ca/product%20photos/J...2000%20(46).jpg
  10. I gave a good thought about all this, correct me if im wrong. As i understand, we move track rod end more towards the center of the wheel as with this gaining positive Ackerman, but steering rack assy would be an issue as it will be under strain, and at the same time if we reloctae steering rack for a bit, then we are were we begun roughly? I hope i didnt get it wrong. And then i wonder what if we try to put HICAS kind of connection in the rod end, wouldnt that theoritically do the job? But the problem again is, that it is a verry sensitive joint against dirt and dust.
  11. Id love to come to Russia, its one of the countries Id love to Visit Just for you to know, your Lexus has a big fan club here in russia All altezza club here knows about Monster, i was very proud bragging i've seen it in real life
  12. Check PM, Mat! Maybe you want to try your luck in exotic Russia as well ?
  13. As speaking of tyres, my first expieriences was try to have good tyres on the front, whatever on the back, usually buying used tyres with few mm of protector left for rear, just to stay on cheaper side, as to say "anyway i will burn them in couple of laps" Then i did experiment, bought a set of new Nankangs, veery cheap tyres compared to others, probably not the best around And on the front i had AD-07. Before putting on new set on Nankangs, i had my used AD-07s at the back as well (255/40/18). Did few laps, everything felt right, car drifted as i was used to, all good..AD07 at the back came to an end. Then i put on brand new Nankangs. WOW first lap i felt like im playing with car, it became completely predictable, loads of smoke, and i would say everything improved by 25%!!! And the beauty thing was that I could actually drift a long time compared to second hand rubber i used to buy, and after doing my maths i understood that moneywise its even better to buy some low budget NEW tyres than buy second have stuff for pennies. But as for front, i try to go for good, more expensive tyres! Loved about ice and skating!!! Bulls eye! Drift is all about traction and control!
  14. could you explain a bit more Tony, i just want to make sure i am getting it right .. Main benifit during weight transfer would be NOT to have a bump steer, and during rapid transfer have more grip, basically keeping car more in control in rapid and often transfers, as drift is not Formula 1 driving theory with as smooth as possible lines having transfering weight smoothly. If i got it wrong please correct me, just need to understand!
  15. Btw, you also might be interested in this My latest project on the road (especially for Mat ) Turbo Tezza, with greddy turbokit, 3S-GE, also built for drifting purposes. The car i had my first steps with in mapping PowerFC And thanks for welcoming guys!!
